To say that Krystal was nervous would be a pretty great understatement. Teaching was nothing new to her. She'd been a tutor back in her more senior years of attending the academy, and she'd been a substitute for the last two years. It was as natural and simple as breathing to her. It was this whole headmistress thing that was extremely unnerving. At 28 years old, Krystal was by far the youngest head to ever lead the Academy. She was young. She was inexperienced. She seriously doubted that she was ready for the tremendous responsibility that came with guiding a school filled with 'freaks' to live life as normally as they possibly could.
She knew that her promotion to headmistress was all because of her aunt. Janet. The old batty woman had been the founder of the school, and now as her great-grandaughter the torch of responsibility fell down to Krystal. She wasn't sure whether she should expect people to respect her as the headmistress, or mock her because she had only earned her right to be the headmistress by birth. She guessed that she'd find out soon. School began in less than a week, and all of Krystal's new duties would be sent into overdrive. It was high time to put aside all nervousness and just focus on not making the school fall apart in the future year.
She was sitting behind the large oak desk in her office, directly opposite the door. Behind her desk on the wall between two bookshelves hung a portrait of her great-grandmother, looking young and surprisingly similar to Krystal despite the generation between them. Krystal was bent over the registration list of new students for the year, looking at all of the new powers that would be entering the school. There was nothing she hadn't encountered before, which was a bit disappointing. There were few things Krystal liked more than seeing a new power in an eager student.
She was pulled away from her thoughts and 'studies' by three knocks on the door. Krystal sighed, expecting that some rebellious student had gotten into trouble before the school year even began. Perfect start to a new year. "Come in," she called out, picking up the papers on her desk, stacking them in a neat pile, and placing them in one of the many drawers in her desk as she waited for whoever it was to come in.

Donnie opened the door upon a command from within and leaned inside the room, keeping his hand on the doorknob so he could leave and shut the door behind him if such a request was made. He was fairly sure that wouldn't happen, but he always thought it seemed rude to fully walk into someone else's room without them knowing who you were first.
The office was quite as he remembered it. The painting of the founder of the Academy still hung proudly in the center of the room, between two well stocked bookcases, and before those a desk that seemed, to Donnie, a little too big for the woman that was sat at it and sorting through papers.
"Good afternoon, Miss Mays." Donnie greeted, the smile that had been brought upon his face by Remy now replaced once again with the standard, serious expression that had practically become his trademark. "Donald Helleker, the new power control class teacher? We spoke on the phone."

Remy sighed and stood up. Mr. Helleker was taking way too long in the office. Okay… so maybe he just got in there and Remy was being impatient but she couldn’t help it. Patients was a virtue that the rainbow girl didn’t possess. ”I wonder if I went into my doll if it would be easier to stalk him.” Remy smiled and took her purple haired Living Dead Doll out of her backpack and closed her eyes, concentrating on entering the doll she held close.
Slowly the light came back and a sickly looking smile formed on the plastic dolls face. She looked at her body slumped against the wall. Remy looked dead but then again when she wasn’t smiling and just there she did look dead with pale skin and lifeless eyes. Remy touched Spiedrah’s dress and walked into the office. Noticing the receptionist wasn’t at her post, Remy took this opportunity to sit herself in front of the headmistresses office door and act like a doll. She just hoped she didn’t get kicked by a foot, hit by a door and ended up back in her body.
Remy sat there for a while without noticing anything when everything went black. my head hurts Remy muttered and lifted her head. Where was she? She really had no clue. She stood up and left the area. Leaving behind Spiedrah, who sat lifeless in front of Ms. Mays office and went to find a water fountain or something. She'd remember why she was there soon. It really sucked that she suffered slight memory loss after using her power. Luckily it never lasted too long.

Krystal was relaxed, hands folded on top of her desk, and looking straight at the door as the newcomer entered. She smiled and had to admit that she was quite relieved when she realized that it was an adult, and not some obnoxious little kid who would take a great amount of joy out of giving her a hard time. Her smile grew as he introduced himself. Donald Helleker. He was one of the new teachers for this year, though he had been hired by her predecessor and she and he had never met before, she was sure that she'd be interacting with him a lot over the coming months.
"Nice to finally meet you, Mr. Helleker," she nodded pleasantly. "I trust your trip here was well?"
Donald was one of the oddity teachers at Power's Academy. One of the rare few who had never attended the place as a child. She hoped that he would be able to quickly adjust to the way things worked here, because she was not the type to bend her expectations for anyone, student or adult, simply because they weren't used to the way things worked at her school. She might be a nervous new headmistress, but she still liked her respect and being treated as an authoritative figure.

Was his trip 'well'? That was debatable. He was still alive, and with all his limbs accounted for. At the same time, it had been distinctly unpleasant, as he found all long journeys to be.
"It was... long." He settled for, stepping into the room since she didn't seem too busy. He stepped toward the desk and offered his hand to shake. "I'm just glad to be back in these familiar halls." He added with a polite nod.
As he had predicted, he didn't recognize her from his time at the Academy. It was peculiar though; Donnie felt suddenly and inexplicably on-edge. Perhaps it stemmed from the chat he'd had outside with Remy. That wasn't exactly the ideal first conversation with a student. Or maybe it was because he was in the presence of a descendant of the founder of the Academy that he loved so much. It was like meeting someone from a royal bloodline.
He felt slightly silly thinking that last part, and reminded himself that taking over the post of headmistress must be an incredibly daunting one. That said, the young woman seated before him looked to be quite calm and collected. He couldn't help but wonder if that would remain the situation when the semester officially started.

The most authority that Krystal had ever had before in her life was being a teacher and being able to expect teenagers, at least the well behaved ones, to do as she asked when she asked it and how she expected it to be done. To be treated so politely and spoken to so politely by one of her peers, even a man who was a good few years older than her, was definitely odd. Sure she'd have to get used to it eventually, but right now Krystal couldn't help but be amused. This was one of those moments when she thought 'if someone had told me _____ years ago that this is what I'd be doing I would have laughed in their face'.
She smiled at his last comment, glad that he seemed to be genuinely fond of the academy and not just one of those teachers who tried to get a job here for the money or pure control over powerful young students. Not that she'd ever actually employ a teacher like that. Power's like students at the academy had were often very dangerous. The mentors who guided them and taught the kids to control them, especially the Powers Control teacher, had to be very honest and wise about the way they used their influence on young minds.
"I know what you mean," she assured him with a slight laugh. "I usually feel lost whenever I'm away from the Academy." Maybe that wasn't the best feeling for the headmistress of Power's to have. After all, the school was meant to prepare teenagers to enter the real world and conduct themselves in it. But it wasn't the Krystal wasn't able to act normally in public. Hell, she was about as normal as you could get at this school. She just preferred the comfort of a known sanctuary and the activities that she could take part of on campus than the aimless wanderings that Summer vacation brought each year.
"Now, have you gotten a chance to meet anyone else so far, or did you come straight to my office?" she wasn't really referring to students. There were a a lot of returning teachers as well as a good many new teachers starting at PA this year. Apparently with a new headmistress had came a wide amount of interested graduates looking to teach.

My ODDS are STACKED I’ve never been a GAMBLING MAN -*-*-*- Donnie gave an appreciative nod when Miss Mays told him that she also usually felt lost when away from this place. Perhaps at one point, when he was living life outside in the 'real' world, he thought he'd outgrown it; that he had got what he needed from it and left to live his own life and that he wouldn't look back. He supposed that most students looked at the Academy like that. It was no different from a regular school in that respect.
Maybe it was just because the life that he had managed to build for himself had recently fallen apart, but he felt like he needed Power's Academy now more than he ever had as a student. It was almost ironic. Donnie didn't like irony in much the same way that he didn't like surprises.
Miss Mays asked him a question about whether he'd met anyone since his arrival. "I spoke to a student at the front gates." He informed her, "A Miss Remy Lorence, who was... fairly welcoming." He omitted that she had insisted on carrying his bags inside. He also omitted that prior to this she had thrown them into a bush. "Apart from that, and from your receptionist, I haven't had the pleasure to meet anyone else yet."
He wanted to ask if any of the old teachers that attended the Academy when he was a student were still here. It was unlikely, but it could happen. He held his question back, though. He didn't want to turn their polite conversation into some kind of interrogation. Besides, he was sure he'd find out the answer to that question soon enough.
