Ramona stiffened. She hadn't been expecting that as a reply to what she thought was a pointless question, thrown in because she was getting annoyed. The teen found herself speechless, unable to find anything appropriate to respond with. How the hell were you supposed to answer that sort of thing anyway?
Next thing she knew, Connor had pushed her away and she'd fallen to the floor, wincing as she hit the ground and then glaring at Connor. "What the hell was that for?!" she demanded, looking up at him. Had he really just pushed her into the ground like that, without any kind of warning? And he'd taken her umbrella, too, holding it up like he was taunting her with it. She clenched her fists, quickly releasing them when she felt a sharp pain in her left wrist. From what she knew about first-aid (which wasn't much, but you tend to pick that kind of thing up when a parent works in a medicine) it felt like her awkward landing had sprained it.
Before she could carry on yelling at him, the teen watched, eyes wide, as the heavens opened and lightning struck Connor dead-on, sending him flying. Waiting for him to get back up, Ramona was terrified. People died from that kind of electric shock- and if they survived, there tended to be a hell of a lot of damage.
When he got back up, Ram sighed in relief. He wasn't dead from the blow, that was a decent start. And evidently, he could still walk, because he made his way over, yelling at her and offering a hand to help her up, which she didn't take, instead getting up herself and avoiding any pressure on her wrist. She wasn't badly hurt, and able to stand fine on her own. "Yeah." she answered him simply. Her wrist was a little worse for wear, but she'd broken bones before. A sprain wasn't a big deal. "But we need to get you to the hospital, now."

Connor breathed a heavy sigh of relief, he had taken most if not all of the blow from the untimely strike and Ramona was relatively unharmed, save for a sprained wrist. He was a little hurt that she did not take his hand, but he understood why. 'Lucky for her I'm almost 6 feet of solid conductor. A bolt that big would have done some serious damage to anyone else.' Connor did a quick survey of the area. The spot where he had been standing was blackened by the electrical discharge, small bits of crude glass had formed for the intensity of the heat. Connor's favorite sneakers had been partially melted too. No one seemed to notice how close the bolt had been, the streets were bare of people. Thank God for whatever keeps people home during unfavorable weather. Connor was about to apologize for knocking her down when he began to feel strange... Kinda good actually. "Oh hell, not this again. Every bloody time..." He trailed off mid-sentence before looking back to Ramona with a far off expression on his face. "Sorry about, the wrist there gorgeous... and the umbrella too I guess. Heh heh" Connor's speech was odd, stilted with odd pauses and small fits of giggling. Electricity had this effect on him like nothing else. He become noticeably afraid as soon as a hospital was mentioned, eyes widening, pupils fully dilated. "I CAN'T GO TO THE HOSPITAL, THEY'LL TRY AND TAKE MY BLOOD!! They can't do that... " Connor has lost some control of his ability to speak and as randomly alternating between yelling and whispering. It was some spectacle to witness. If Connor went to the hospital, Ramona would find out his secret and then there would be no stopping her. He could get expelled from the school or she could get hurt trying to find out more about it... He needed a plan fast and his electricity-addled brain had one just stupid enough to work. He pointed quickly in the direction opposite to the one Ramona was facing and yelled out; "WATCH OUT! CAR!!!" As he waited for Ramona to turn, Connor placed his umbrella at her feet, and high-tailed it off behind the nearest building. The second he was out of sight he burst into a cloud of gears, gathered what little clothing he had and scattered in every direction leaving no trace of where he might have run off to. If Ramona were to turn look around, all she would see is some muddy footprints leading away from a gray umbrella and a small piece of metal... The centerpiece of Connor's necklace. -exit connor caelan cassidy-

Ramona frowned. "What do you mean you can't go the hospital?! You just got hit by lightning!" Surely it was a no-brainer that he needed medical attention after that; but apparently not for Connor, who seemed terrified of the prospect. She knew hospitals gave a lot of people the wiggins, it was pretty understandable, but he seemed unbelievibly scared by the idea, for reasons she didn't know.
When he yelled 'CAR!', Ramona turned sharply in panic, then scowled when she saw that the road was completely clear. "Why you-" She was about to give him a full-blown piece of her mind for messing with her at a time like this, but he'd gone, bolted off down the street leaving his umbrella on the concrete, which she knelt down next to and picked up. Noticing the piece of Connor's necklace to it, she sighed. It had fallen off again? "He really needs to super-glue this thing." she muttered to herself, shoving the piece of metal into her coat pocket and standing up, opening the umbrella with her good hand.
Now she had to return both of these things somehow. She didn't have Connor's last name, or his email address or number for that matter, and highly doubted they'd let her into Power's to drop off an umbrella and part of a necklace. "Fricken' Power's." she grunted under her breath, heading back home to sling up her wrist. After what she'd just witnessed, it was hard to believe that there was nothing going on. People didn't just walk away from a lightning strike like that.
