Powers are, of course, the entire reason that Power's Academy exists. They range from being able to understand insects to being able to change your appearance at will. The possibilities are endless. Any powers that would make your character somehow 'all powerful', however, like being able to mind control someone with a glance or kill someone with a thought, are forbidden. If you think your power may be too powerful, please PM me before posting your app and we may be able to arrange something.
When powers children are young, they cannot control themselves. Their abilities may appear anywhere between the ages of six to eighteen, which is why Power's Academy targets that age group. The abilities randomly show themselves until the child learns to control it. With some abilities, the uncontrollable appearances could be potentially dangerous, or certainly frightening to normal people who don't know what is going on. That's why Power's academy is as much a school as it is a safe haven. History has shown what frightened people do to things they do not understand. The Salem Witch Hunt is a prime example of how dangerous abilities can be to the children that possess them. People possessing powers keep them secret for their own safety.
