One thing Ken loves is food. LOVES it. He also has a thing for mice. He's had several of them for pets. For some reason, he loves kids. He's always got along well with them. He likes books. He adores other peoples' powers and using them, especially telepathy. Along with the books, he likes trivia and technology because he can learn more trivia through it. And it's convenient. I said he loves food, right? He likes being indoors. It's more comfortable. And he likes the night time. Even though he prefers inside, he loves the stars.
( D I S L I K E S ) Understandably, he doesn't like bugs, of any sort. Heights are horrible. He gets an unnerved feeling in wide-open spaces. He might like kids, but can't stand the "screamers." Metal music gives him a whopping headache. So do people who obsess over their weight. They're a little annoying to him. He doesn't like powers who can disable other powers, because he can't take that power. He doesn't like humans for pretty much the same reason. And secrets shouldn't exist in his opinion.
( S T R E N G T H S ) He learns quickly, which may possibly be another aspect of his power. And he's good with kids, or rather anyone younger than him. He always has been.
( W E A K N E S S E S ) This can get amusing for some people, but Ken is DEATHLY afraid of heights. And he's not very good at keeping secrets, so it's not a good idea to tell him. Chances are they won't stay secret for long.
( H O B B I E S / H A B I T S ) He doodles a lot. Often when there's a lull in the day he'll draw on whatever is near by. You should see his desk. He has a habit of touching, which can occasionally get very annoying. Often when he's talking with someone, he'll touch their arm or poke them mid-sentence, or... just randomly. He likes getting powers is why, and it's turned into a subconscious thing.
( F E A R S ) On heights: "We are not meant to be off the ground. If we were, we'd have wings or be monkeys. Our feet are for the dirt beneath them." Hell, he can have a panic attack watching somebody skydive or bungee jump on TV.
Killing someone else, and also killing himself, by way of their abilities is something he fears could happen too.
( S E C R E T S ) Killing someone else, and also killing himself, by way of their abilities is something he fears could happen too.
What possible secrets can a guy who can't keep secrets have?
( O V E R A L L ) Overall, Kenta can be described as a very chill, easy going person. He's not very intense, and rather hard to push over the edge. That's probably why he's so good with kids. His patience is two miles long. He likes being agreeable. Life is much easier with people if you're agreeable, unless they're just plainly looking for a fight. But you can't do anything about people like that.
He's proactive. Went he wants something, or wants something done, he takes action about it.
All that is kind of negated, though, when it comes to humans. If you ain't got no superpower, you're nothing, boring, and hardly worth his time. This is probably because around people with no power, he has no power. And he likes having powers. He likes being special.
Being that he likes being agreeable, he is a bottler, almost always bottling any anger in a seemingly bottomless container. The top has yet to seriously blow. He swears he's impossible to rightly and truly piss off, and is impossible to anger. But who knows. Hopefully he's not that bad. The "almost" came before "always" because there's no way to keep him calm when you try to get him on a bridge or the top of a building or anywhere high. Even indoors on second or third stories, but it's not so bad if he stays away from windows and balconies.

Masami Yamamoto and Shirou Mochizuki moved to America two years after a special school trip to New York, New York. This was the starting ground for them realizing all they had in common. So, long story short, they married and Masami became pregnant with their first child at twenty. Feeling like it would help their child blend into American society easier, they gave him the first non-Asian name they liked as a middle name (whereas Japanese do not typically have a middle name). And that's how Kenta Dante came to be Kenta Dante.
It was also basically the same thing six years later with Jenni Noa.
It's hard to say when his ability first emerged. He might have had it his entire life, but no one knows because it has no affect on humans. So growing up, he and his sister grew up with a fine Japanese-American life, whatever that is. Shirou made friends, and through those friends, got himself a good job at a high end bank, and Sami studied to become a teacher, as difficult as that was with one, and later two, children. Kenta was always near the top of his class, excelling when he found things interesting, and doing well just to please his parents.
In a place like New York City, with over eight million inhabitants, countless more venturing in and out of the city each day, it was only a matter of time before Ken discovered his power by running into at least one other. He was lucky enough to have this happen on two - very separated - events. The first was when he was thirteen. One day after school, he ran into a tourist on his way home. They bumped arms and all of a sudden his hand felt hot. Trying to get rid of the feeling, he shook it and it burst into flames. Instead of freaking out like any normal person would, he stared at it like an infant distracted by bright colors. After a moment, he shook his hand again and the flame went out. Perhaps the only person on Earth who might have done this, after trying to set his hand aflame again and failing, he ran and found the pyrokinetic and grabbed his arm. This time successful in starting a little fire, he immediately bolted home with little words exchanged with the guy who he gained the power from to show his mother and sister his new found ability. Masami wasn't so thrilled about it. She immediately dumped the glass of water in her hand on his and told him to never do that again. He couldn't, even if he tried.
Two years later, a new school mate of his, Tanya, proved to be special too. She was a terrakinetic with a temper. She had little discretion with her power, often throwing dirt and rocks around in the school yard and once even creating a whole in the ground when she was angry. Who knows why they school allowed her to stay enrolled. When he first mimicked her power, he jumped to the conclusion that touching people gave him abilities, because he though that was damn cool and hadn't forgotten the pyro incident. He was only half right, because he thought it worked with humans too. He soon figured out that wasn't the case.
Tanya's family found out about Power's Academy, and eventually she was sent there. However, it wasn't before she could tell Ken about it. He sought out the school and told his parents. It took much convincing, but he was sent by his sixteenth birthday. Then, he was basically a kid in a candy store, running around with everybody's powers in him. He mellowed out, but it was still his favorite part about being there.

"Oh. Crap. Sky." Seeing that he'd bumped into Sky Spencer almost double Tristan's embarrassment for some reason. If it had been something he'd done on purpose, which he most certainly had in the past on two different occasions to get a girl's attention, it'd be a much different story. But it wasn't, so it wasn't. One factor was probably the fact that he worked with the young woman. She was a cabin boy - ehm, girl... person - like him on the Sword as well.
Tristan didn't like seeming uncoordinated and clumsy around pretty girls... unless of course he did it on purpose like stated a moment ago.
"Where the hell were you going in such a rush?" He kept his arms around her for a second or two, making sure she wouldn't lose her balance once he let go (probably one sec too long). Then, he noticed her beach bag had fallen, so after letting go he bent over and picked it up for her, shoving whatever may have slipped out in a haphazard way. "Sorry, he said again.
"I wasn't really rushing, per se." Tris stood. "I kind of picked up speed when playing human dodge-ball... I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going." He thought he had been, but looks like ramming into someone as he turned proved that point wrong.
He realized he hadn't actually answered her question. "Oh, I was headed back to the Sword." He added it quickly, trying to seem like he hadn't forgotten that little detail with a sidelong smile that was almost as synonymous with Tristan as his hats were.
"Are you OK?" He asked after a moment, stopping himself from apologizing a third time.
YOU WERE FAKE, I WAS GREAT--NOTHING PERSONAL
