( P O W E R )[/COLOR] SOLARKINESIS- This power allows Melina to manipulate energy provided from the sun. With this power she is able to manipulate objects that take in the suns energy, causing them to grow or fill with life. For example, she could revive a dying plant, or cause a person to suddenly feel energized. Although a much harder feat, she can create the heat of the sun, leaving severe burns, and even causing death in some cases.

WEAKNESSES- Obviously, Melina's power is severely weakened at night due to the sun being covered by the moon. At night, she is not able to create the heat of the sun or use her power as effectively. Also, she is not yet able to revive humans or animals as she can with plants.

SIDE EFFECTS- Ironically, even though her powers deal with taking in energy, Melina is often very drained after using her powers. The consequences from using her powers can consist of fatigue, minor headaches, fever, dehydration, and sometimes dizziness. [/B] [/SIZE]

( O V E R A L L )[/COLOR] Melina Alvarez, a woman who prides herself on being different than your stereotypical good girl. Will you catch her picking a fight? Probably not. But at the same time, she is never one to back down from one. Her pride is something she holds very dear, and she refuses to let anyone take that away from her. Though her protectiveness over her pride often causes this little spitfire to get into sticky situations. When she feels someone is threatening her image, Melina is bound to go off; switching from girl-next door to your worse nightmare in two-point-five seconds. Luckily for those around her, it is rare for Melina to completely lose her temper. Growing up she had learned to never let her anger control her, therefore, she often thinks before she speaks, and tries her hardest to be respectful to everyone, even when they refuse to show her the same respect. Needless to say, Melina is a huge fan of the Golden rule: treat others the way you wanted to be treated. A rule that was strictly forced throughout her childhood.

Although prideful and sometimes a bit vain, Melina is really a good person, or at least she tries to be. She tries her best to be the best person she possibly can, whether thats by donating money to the homeless or just a simple visit to her parents. But like everyone else, she makes mistakes and sometimes fails at being good. Though her slip-ups are mostly to blame on her slight drinking problem. Starting in her teen years and continuing throughout her adulthood, Melina has always had a problem with alcohol. No, she is not some drunk who loves to waste her life away - she just has a hard time stopping once she has started drinking. However, her problem with alcohol is not with bothers people so much, it's her sometimes narcissistic ways that turns people off. Not that she is always this way, but Melina is sometimes a bit boastful about what she has and how much she has achieved. But in her eyes she has worked hard for what she has, so she deserves to show off. Then again, it could be the way she was brought up as an only child, never having to share the spotlight. Whichever the case may be, Melina tries not to get on peoples' bad side, and will be quick to apologize if she steps on any toes.

Though we have seen the things that make Melina flawed, we have yet to see what makes her the nice woman that so many has come to love. Much like her mother, Melina is a very maternal person. She often feels the need to take charge and care for those around her, always the one making sure everyone is alright and safe, even if she isn't herself. Though not only is she caring, Melina is also very intelligent. Not like she graduated from MIT kind of smart, but the kind of intelligence that a woman who knows what she wants in life carries. She is a very goal-oriented person, and a believer in hard work. Though the thing that gets most people is that no matter how much she has on her plate, she is always willing to lend a helping hand, and without a single complaint.

Overall, Melina is a kind-hearted, passionate person who goes through the ups and downs of life like everyone else. Though she has many ways in which she shines, she also has those times where she is a victim of twisted fate like everyone else. One word that would describe Melina: real. A person who may have powers, but still moves on with the rest of the world. And as Melina would say, "I'm perfectly imperfect, and that's perfectly okay with me."

( O V E R A L L )[/B][/COLOR] On July 4th, Melina Lilly Alvarez was born. However, her birth would be a bitter-sweet moment. Unfortunately for her parents, their little girl was born premature, causing some difficulty in her breathing. Although the doctor made it clear that Melina would be fine after a few days spent under the incubator, Bella couldn't help but fear for her daughter's life. Bella's paranoia was put to rest when Melina was allowed to return home just a couple of days later. Still, this caused Bella to be super protective over her little girl, always keeping Melina by her side where ever she went. Sadly, the family would find out just some weeks later that her premature birth had caused some hearing damage in Melina's left ear.

Surprisingly, Melina had a normal childhood. Her parents were both scientist, spending a great deal of their time outdoors. Which was the start of Melina's love of being outside. In fact, her parents' often had to drag her inside when it was time to come in. Needless to say, Melina was an wild, adventurous baby who kept the couple on their toes. Unfortunately for everyone, Melina's life of normality was about to come crashing down, and hard...

Melina was seven years old when she first discovered her power. While outside gardening with her mother -one of her favorite pastimes- Melina noticed the flower she had planted died. As she touched the plant, it 'sprung' back to life before her very eyes. Her parents were shocked to say the least, but also fascinated. Being scientist, her parents were dumbfounded on how such a thing could exist. And after a series of futile test, they stumbled across Power's Academy. At first, they were skeptical about sending their daughter away, but after witnessing what she was capable of, they eventually saw it was best that she receive proper training.

Melina's stay at PA was, for the most part, pleasant. Despite her accent, she fit in with the other kids and her powers seemed to be growing by rife amounts. Her duration at PA was pretty uneventful, and she graduated, being offered a job to teach Spanish. After a year or so of thinking it over, Melina accepted the position and has been here ever since.

It sounded more like an advertisement for a prostitution service, not for a mirror that would change a person's life forever. Though that was hell for you, always showing up in disguise. Still, Leslie proved himself to be more stupid than she thought by accepting this promised 'fun'. He had no idea what he had gotten himself into, and now he was stuck to deal with the consequences of his actions. There was no telling what would happen to him, or his daughter for that matter. Natasha knew that a person would have no problem threatening his family to get what they wanted; hell, she had committed this same tactic to get what she wanted. She wasn't proud of it, but business was business. And if she had to tell a man she would murder his wife to get what she wanted, then so be it. "So I guess it's pointless for me to tell you how stupid you are for responding to those letters."

"Don't want me to get involved? In case me almost dying at the hands of some mutated monster didn't give it away: I'm already fuckin' involved!" Natasha's voiced raised a bit, breaking her usual monotonous sound. Though she didn't know why she yelled, she wasn't exactly angry. Just tired. "Look, as much as we both despise it, we are stuck together for a while." Natasha said a little more calmly, surprised at how easy it was for her to say it. "If you want to live to see another day, I suggest you get used to me." It wasn't a threat, just the truth. To be honest, Natasha had no idea why she was helping him in the first place. It would be much easier for her to just leave. Why should she care if this man died? He had did nothing but cause her more trouble.

Natasha's mental rant stopped when he talked about his wife. The bitch sounded crazy if you asked Natasha. Who didn't like being alone? Hell, Natasha would crave such solitude. Natasha did notice how different he got when he spoke about his personal life; it was like he was trying to forget it. "If it makes you feel better, I'm sure there is another woman just as pathetic as you out there, and one day you two will meet and have two-point-five kids together." Natasha said with a smile to show she was joking...well, sort of anyway. "Besides, with your new life, you need someone a little...different.".
