( P O W E R ) Oneirokinesis (dream manipulation). This is quite a complex power. It can only be utilised while Abe is asleep, and can only be used on others who are also asleep. Abe experiences lucid dreams whenever he sleeps, meaning he knows he is dreaming and can control the dream to any extent that his imagination lets him. However, while this is not a common ability, it is not unique. His actual power is his ability to leave his own dream and enter into other people’s. He is able to manipulate other people’s dreams as easily as he is his own, and can also use this ability to communicate with people even if he doesn’t know who or where they are, as long as they are asleep. By telling the person in a dream that they are, in fact, dreaming, he can make them lucid also, and give them the power to manipulate their dream world. In a dream, Abe cannot be killed (except in his own) but if he kills another person, they will simply wake up with no negative side effects. He is able to traverse the space between people’s dreams with ease, moving through them like rooms in a building. He can even take people with him into other people’s dreams, so that they can meet each other.
In dreams, he can do anything he can imagine, and, as a result, often appears differently than how his does in real life. There is a particular appearance that he tends to take on by default (the details are below, alongside the standard ones). Since his power has the heavy condition that both he and the target must be asleep, it cannot affect anyone who does not sleep (insomniacs) and anyone who refuses to sleep (keeping themselves awake). Also, for his power to be cancelled, all it takes is for someone to wake either him or the people he is interacting with. If he is awoken while he is with someone else in another person’s dream world, both of those people will also wake up and, when and if they go back to sleep, will be back in their own dream worlds.
If he was using his power on an enemy, the key use of it would be to extract information that was supposed to remain secret. On the more extreme side, he could terrorise opponents in their dream worlds by generating horrible dream creatures or places to torment them. He can cause pain to a person in their dream state also, as long as it doesn’t kill them (in which case they would just wake up). If they become lucid, they may be able to fend off the things he creates in their dream worlds, though this would take an awful lot of skill considering how much practice Abe has had with dream manipulation. Any opposition in this manner can also be remedied by dragging the subject into his own dream world, where they are helpless to resist anything he does to them until they wake up.
Abe’s power is most extremely useful for communicating with people no matter how far away they are. Distance manifests itself completely differently on the dream plane, meaning that as long as the other person is asleep, Abe can find them and go to them.

( L I K E S ) Dreaming, of course. Inside of a dream world, he enjoys creating new places and structures. There is nothing he loves more than occupying other people’s dreams and helping them if they are in distress. Outside of dreaming, Abe likes drawing, though this is mostly in the form of doodles in his notebook. He also likes games and puzzles. He loves to meet new people. In his spare time, he likes to listen to music, and even plays the piano a little. When he leaves school, he wants to become an architect, so many of his waking hours are spent admiring buildings. He has a fondness for animals and is good with kids too, and he always emits a positive, optimistic air, making it hard for people to be depressed when he’s around.
( D I S L I K E S ) Abe has a very strong moral compass, and can’t stand to see innocent people hurt as a result of others. When this is the case, he will quickly take steps to help out or correct the situation. Because of this tendency, the people he hates most are bullies. On a lesser level, he dislikes science, as he was never really good at applying his imagination to such rigid rules of physics and biology. Although he likes video games, Abe doesn’t really like regular TV, as he is convinced it damages people’s ability to lucid dream in the long run. By the same logic, he disapproves of anything that manipulates sleep patterns: coffee, sleeping pills, any medicine that causes drowsiness. He believes that sleep should be completely natural. He has a strange, love/hate relationship with insomniacs, as he pities their inability to dream, but is wary of their immunity to his power.
( S T R E N G T H S ) Abe is loyal, and a fiercely reliable friend when he gets to know you. He is always as honest as possible, even if this gets him in trouble. He is extremely determined, when he wants to make a change to something or achieve a goal, he will set his mind to it and get it nine times out of ten. His eccentricity also gives him an element of unpredictability.
( W E A K N E S S E S ) Outside of a dream environment, Abe is physically quite weak and his power is useless. Although he is very smart, he often finds it hard to focus or concentrate, especially in classes. He tends to think with his heart before his head, which frequently gets him into trouble. As with all people, there is a darker side of Abe’s personality, but he is guilty of suppressing this side of him, which will infrequently lead to angry outbursts, uncharacteristic of his usual, upbeat self.
( H O B B I E S / H A B I T S ) The incessant doodling that his notebooks are exposed to has gotten him into trouble more than a few times. A habit would be his sweet tooth – he will admit that he has an unhealthy fondness for sugary foods, though thankfully his metabolism keeps the physical side effects at bay. His main hobby is in music, whether simply relaxing and listening, or playing his keyboard (he couldn’t reasonably put a piano in his dormitory, though he often plays one when he dreams).
( F E A R S ) His main fear is related to his power. When he meets people in a dream world, he can appear however he wants, and he has an amazing – almost Godlike - control over his surroundings, but he always worried that a person who has met him in a dream, when meeting him in real life, will be disappointed by what they find: that he is not a god, but a regular teenager. His other fear is that a friend of his will access his dream world, and see the darker side of him that he always keeps locked away.
( S E C R E T S ) Very rarely, Abe will use his power to influence teachers to give him a generous grade on a test, every now and then. He has taken unadvised means to lock away the darker part of his dream self; something that he knows will come back to haunt him later.
( O V E R A L L ) Although eccentric and quite unpredictable, Abe is well liked due to his unwavering moral compass and good heart. Although he could be seen as odd, he doesn’t spare thoughts for what people think of him most of the time. He is helpful, honest, though can be blunt and a little too forward sometimes. It’s hard to stay angry with him for any length of time, as he has a positive, can-do attitude and an unhampered innocence in his eyes.

( O V E R A L L ) Abraham Winters was raised as an only child in a quiet village in the South of England. His mother was a musician and his father an author, and although neither of them were exactly world-famous, they made enough to scrape by together. Both of his parents loved Abraham with all their hearts. His mother taught him from an early age to play the piano, a pastime he still loves today, and his father, who was chasing his dreams, taught him that he could do anything he wanted in life if he believed in himself.
It was at the age of eight that Abraham’s power manifested itself. It happened instantly for him, like a light switch turning on, but for everyone around him it was a long process. They began to wonder if something was wrong when they both started having dreams in which their son appeared. More and more they could rely on him showing up, every night, to both of them. It wasn’t an unwelcome disturbance, so they put it down to mere coincidence. However things took a turn for the worse when the other villagers began to be affected by his power. The young Abraham was too naïve to understand that people mostly considered their minds a place of privacy that he shouldn’t enter without asking. In his early stages of his experimentation with his power, he was trying various tricks and exercises in other people’s dreams, quite without their permission. When people in the village began to realise that it wasn’t a coincidence that they were all seeing the young boy in their dreams, they got angry. One night they gathered together and went to confront the boy’s parents at their house. The couple were almost unable to keep them from storming in out of anger, but managed to fend them off, telling them they would sort out the situation.
The next day they talked to Abraham about how people didn’t always like it when he went into their dreams, and asked him not to do it anymore, but that he could still do what he wanted in his dreams, only that he should stay in his own head. He agreed, not wanting to disappoint his parents who he loved dearly. The next few years passed uneventfully. Abraham continued to exercise his ability, but kept to his own dream world.
Sadly, Joy Winters contracted cancer when Abraham was fifteen years old. It was a severe case, and doctors were unsure whether she would be able to pull through. The family was, of course, distraught to see Joy’s health slowly deteriorating. That was when Abraham got the idea to make his mother’s last days as amazing as possible. Using his power, he entered her dreams at night and told her that she was dreaming, granting her lucidity. After that, he would take her on a journey to places all over the world, to see sights that she couldn’t have imagined. They swam to the deepest part of the ocean, drifted high up in the clouds, swept across city skylines on invisible wings, and even went into space to watch the dance of the planets and the burning of far-off stars. The nights before his mother died were the best of her life, and when she passed away, peacefully at the age of 35, she had no regrets.
Abraham’s father, who had known about the proceedings, only now decided that his son’s gift could no longer be wasted as it was now. Seeing what he could do for Joy, he was convinced that he should be allowed to use his power freely, without fear of other people. Ignoring his own desire for comfort after the loss of his wife, he searched for information about how his son could be helped, and eventually got into contact with a man who told him about a school founded specifically for people with powers like his son’s. Abraham was reluctant to leave his father, knowing that he needed him now more than ever, but had to go all the same. The call of the chance to use his powers as he had been in the last days of his mother’s life was too powerful to ignore.
Abraham Winters joined Powers’ Academy at the age of sixteen, and has been there for a year now. He has settled in nicely, and feels at home here, in a place where he is free to be who he truly is.
( S A M P L E P O S T ) The morning was clear and the sky was blue, but Dexter's elusive imagination had conjured up a fine mist to fill the cobbled streets of Death City. As he wondered in a criss-crossing path he could feel the tickling buzz of the fog on his skin. Of course to the people around him he just seemed to be meandering about and smiling at nothing. He nearly bumped into a few people, but seemed completely oblivious to them.
Due to his round-about way of getting from A to B, it took Dexter longer than an it would an average person to find his way to Rina's apartment. It was still twenty minutes before their first class began, and Dexter wanted to know whether they were to attend today or skip again, so he had tracked Rina down to ask her.
He saw the door. It was nice. He also saw the wall of the apartment next to the door, and to him that seemed the more logical way of getting to her, so he immediately set about climbing up the sheer surface of the apartment block. This wasn't an easy feat, as it was tricky to figure out the footholds on the brick wall when the imaginary mist was tickling his face, and he had to peer through a number of windows until he found one that looked hopeful.
Clinging to the wall and the ledge of the window, he tapped on the glass and waited to see if he had found the room that belonged to his new weapon partner. He wondered if she'd be surprised to see him.
