ead down. Earbuds in. iPod on. Music blaring. Eyes wide. Nervous. Worried. Fearful. Move fast. Faster. Not fast enough. You're going to see someone. You're going to hurt someone. Move faster goddammit! Jazzy skuttled through the halls like a nervous dog, moving quickly, dodging bodies left right and centre as excited students headed to the cafeteria and front yard, exactly in the opposite direction that she was heading in. The young freshman was heading deeper into the school, farther from lunch hour freedom with every step she took. She didn't need the freedom. She needed peace. She needed solitude. Well, I don't need it. Everyone else needs it. Peace from me.H

No matter how long Jazzy had been at the school for, and this was her second year, she couldn't help feel like she didn't belong. Oh, she needed to be here. She definitely did. I'm a menace to society. I should never leave these halls. Jazzy's thing was that she didn't belong anywhere in society. She couldn't control herself. She hurt people. Tortured them. Crippled her own loved step-mom without even realizing what she was doing. She was a monster who deserved to be locked up in some insane asylum and never heard from by the outside world. Power's Academy was her asylum. But even the people in the building weren't safe from her. Just this morning she had nearly sent Mr. X toppling to the floor in gym class before he had the good nerve to teleport out of the room until she got a hold of herself. She'd apologized for fifteen minutes. He'd assured her a thousand times that it was okay. Still, she'd left the gym feeling like the troll under the bridge. Someone that everyone put up with, but no one wanted around.
This was her second year at Power's Academy. Still she was more helpless than ever to control herself. She was beginning to wonder if she was a lost cause. If she would have to be within a safe distance of Miss Mays for the rest of her life. If she would ever be allowed to leave the stone walls of this school and every building on campus. Just this morning she had been assured by the young headmistress that her power might just take longer than most to control. It was true, with the iPod that Jazzy had acquired over the summer she was able to avoid more accidents. Music drowned out the outside world and let her focus on nothing but its sweet melody and tunes. She was always aware of the people around her, but if she couldn't hear their voices and could stop herself from focusing on them, she was much less likely to hurt them. She wanted to be social. She wanted to have friends to laugh and smile and talk with, but she couldn't afford to. It was too dangerous for them.
Jazzy was heading to one of the abandoned classrooms on the second floor of the main building of the school. It was where she had spent every lunch hour so far this year. A small, dusty, boiling hot room that probably hadn't been taught in in the last five decades. It was perfectly quiet, and not so perfectly lonely, but Jazzy dealt with that. The hallways were beginning to clear out so she began to move faster, lost to the beat of the latest song to pound in her eardrums and make her want to sing along. She was so focused on the floor in front of her and the music playing in her ears that she didn't even notice as she veered off of a straight line and straight into another person in the hallway.
"Omigod, I'm sorry, so so sorry!" she yelped, backing up and lifting her head to look at whoever it was she had just ran into.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
