It was already afternoon by the time Lucas made his way back to the dormitory. To his room. Huffing under his breath he mentally underlined the word several times. When he first received a note from the administration office informing him that he had been given roommates this year, he had considered it to be some kind of sick joke. Since arriving at the Academy, one of the things on a very short list of what made life here livable, was the fact that he had had his own room. That this small mercy in a place that was generally speaking a pain in the ass was being taken from him, was something Lucas considered to be a personal insult.
By now over a week had passed since the two uninvited intruders had arrived and unpacked their things, however, and Lucas was slowly beginning to come to terms with not getting his way for once. Try as he might it seemed as if both the teachers and the rest of the Academy employees had made up their mind on the matter, and not a thing he said could change it. Which meant that whether he liked it or not, he would have to find some way of coexisting with his two new roommates.
The concept seemed somewhat alien to him (probably because it meant giving up), but seeing as nothing else had worked he had resolved to give it a shot. Which was the whole reason for him coming back to his dorm room at six o´clock on a Friday rather than to be out doing something more interesting (and most likely off campus). Because of this, and for this reason alone, Lucas felt vaguely disappointed when he found the room empty and abandoned with just a few shattered clothes spread out on the floor hinting that his roommates had been there at all.
This momentary annoyance at things not working out the way he had planned did not last for long though, and in just a few short seconds it gave way to a pang of relief. Grabbing the remote control to his TV from the desk Lucas slumped down on his bed with a satisfied sigh. Seeing as he did have the room all to himself at the moment, he might as well enjoy the peace and quiet.
