It was early afternoon at Power's Academy and nothing really filled Chris's mind as he stood in the hallway, leaning against the wall. He had just finished lunch and was waiting for it to digest. There was still some time before his next class and he had nothing to do. The boredom started getting to him, making him a little restless. Perhaps he should call Aiden or Kaiser, but both might be busy and they might be in class or something. Chris decided against it and looked around for other people. After all, he had to make some other friends besides those two. The corridor was generally empty and not a lot of people were hanging around. Where is everyone today? Chris thought as he tapped his foot and looked at his watch. There was still more than enough time before his next class. He had to find something to do.
Adjusting his shirt slightly, Chris started to whistle nonchalantly and glanced around, hoping that he wasn't bothering anyone. Maybe I should go to the library or something. He thought. Or maybe I should just go and check over my papers for the student council… Nah. I know I got everything. There shouldn't be any problems. Why is it so boring, for goodness sakes? Christopher scratched at his head furiously. There was nothing to do and everything seemed boring. Even the weather outside seemed to be dull with monotony.
He glanced around again, looking for people only to have no luck in the matter. The halls were silent and the only things you could hear were Chris's agitated footsteps and constant mumblings to himself. Everyone seemed to have something to do besides him and that was the unfair part. Chris wanted to be entertained and contemplating something on the wall was definitely not going to help. "WHY IS THERE NOTHING TO DO AROUND HERE?" he blurted out before he covered his mouth sharply with a sheepish look on his face. "Oops. I guess that was a bit loud..."

Illi was just loving her new life here so far! Excitement, even danger to some extent! Everything was just so wonderful that Illi hadn't even had a proper chance to go explore the place herself. So, she was doing just that. Illi once again had fruit for lunch, and she had time now to do whatever she so desired. She didn't doubt that a bunch of kids probably took this opportunity to do unsavory things, but Illi wasn't one of those people at all. Oh gosh no, she was just the opposite! Illi was making friends slowly but steadily. She had a fairly good track record so far in the friends department. She only had one loss so far, but that jerk was probably friends with a grand total of zero people. Because he was a jerk. Obviously. Things just worked out that way, but she couldn't help but feel bad for him. After all, that seemed like an awfully vicious circle to get in. Being a jerk, so you have no friends, being a jerk because you have no friends... Unable to attain friends because you're such a jerk! It just doesn't work out well for anybody. So Illi tried to be as nice as possible at all times, and most of the time it just came natural!
However, friends or not, Illi was alone at this point. She had no iPod or anything on her, so things were silent. She was walking through the halls. She had meant to pay a visit to the auditorium, she recently signed up to be a drama kid. Hooray! She was so glad she found that out. She would absolutely die without acting. Well, maybe not literally, but metaphorically she would absolutely die! Nothing to her was quite like the experience of moving people to tears, be them through laughter or sadness. She could make people feel, and at the end of it all they would cheer and clap and Illi would just feel so amazing! Even the rehearsals, which were usually tedious to most people, Illi enjoyed. She found them to be quite good sources of amusement through interesting line muck-ups or otherwise. She had her own mess ups before that were very amusing. And at her old school, they played drama games beforehand to get warmed up. Illi loved improv. Heck, Illi loved just about everything about it. That's why she signed up.
But there were problems. Not many other people signed up. She was the first, right under the director. Did the director count? Maybe not. Maybe. The director was crazy important, though. But everyone else was, too. Illi really hoped she just got there early. Another problem was, well... Who were they going to perform for? As far as Illi knew, the school wanted to be as secluded from the town as possible. And, while many students wandered off campus many, many times, she hadn't heard of anybody being caught. At least recently. Illi hoped they would reach out to the community and put on the best darn show they'd ever seen! Was there even a show picked out to do, yet? With two people, one of whom was directing the thing? Oh, that would be bad. Illi liked monologues, but one person shows just seemed weird... She almost shuddered had she not been willing to welcome the opportunity, had it shown itself.
Without warning, she heard something else. Someone else's footsteps. Illi immediately picked up on them and put her feet down as soon as the other person did, making the footsteps appear to be one. She caught a quick glimpse at him. Not his face, though. He had black hair! And... That was basically all Illi could see. He turned around and Illi hid against the wall, hoping not to be seen. She was hiding just around a corner. And, to Illi's great amusement, he went on. He might have been talking to himself. Weird. But, hey, Illi wasn't one to judge, and at least the guy wasn't crazy. They were more 'oh my gosh I'm so bored' mumblings rather than 'how many forks do I need in my pants in order to summon the giant octopus-demon' ones. Now that would be crazy.
Suddenly, the guy (Illi could now tell because of his voice!) shouted out his frustrations. Nothing to do. Well, Mr. Negative, there were plenty of things to do! Illi got a grin on her face and rounded the corner, hopefully so he would know she was there. And Illi kinda hoped she wasn't a creeper. That would just be awkward. To be honest, Illi kind of was creeping. Maybe she could play it off. Maybe her personality would just dispel all thoughts of creeperdom! Yay!
"Yeah, maybe a little bit," she said with a laugh, approaching him. "I was just walking along, minding my own, when I happened to hear about your troubles! So here I am, ready to..." she trailed off, thinking for a moment. What was there to do? Oh boy. "Rescue you from your boredom!" she finished with a grin. "I'm Illi. What's your name?" she asked, hoping that he wouldn't be too creeped out by her rather sudden appearance. Oh, who was she kidding, it was fine! They'd find something to do, and if there really wasn't anything to do, they'd make something to do. Because that's what friends were for! They were totally friends already, right?

"Eep!" Chris almost jumped out of his skin when he realized that someone was here the whole time. It was a bit weird, thinking that she had heard what he said, but then again, he did shout across the hall. She seemed to be quite the fun character, from what Chris could tell from what she said. Rescue? That was an apt word, although not something that most people would choose. "I'd love it if you could get me out of this boredom." Chris grinned, glad that he had someone to talk to even though he was still a bit stunned by the sudden appearance of this girl. Illi? That name seemed familiar for some reason, but Chris couldn't quite pick it out of his mind at the moment. Perhaps she was in a class with him or something. "The name's Christopher, but you can just call me Chris." He then looked around and then back to Illi. "Say, anything exciting going on lately?" He queried. Hopefully he could get a good idea about what to do. That way he could spend some time doing something fun with this new friend of his. Oh yes, fun! Christopher always enjoyed doing something fun. In fact, sometimes even little things could keep him amused for quite a while. Despite enjoying games and such, Chris wasn't exactly really as athletically adept as some of the other guys. He was more about smarts rather than muscle. Still, he figured that he could have a lot of fun in the drama club. That was why he signed up earlier, anyways. Of course, if you were on the tech team, then it was also quite physically endorsing, but that wasn't what Chris got himself into, thankfully. He enjoyed acting as a pastime and always liked to play a small part here and there in his old school. After all, memorizing lines wasn't exactly a big problem for him. It was the same as memorizing formulas for math, right? Well, sort of.Â

"Yay!" she said, in response to his being willing to exit his state of boredom. Illi was pumped. Another friend!? It was like she was some sort of super-person or something. Illi loved people in general, and Chris seemed really cool! Illi couldn't help but notice a trend, though. Everyone who she'd met had thought this place was boring. Everyone. Well, everyone Illi had talked to. About the town. Or, in this case, everyone who Illi had overheard talking to themselves. So, obviously, there was a trend here. A misconception, maybe. This town wasn't boring, darnit! The school, well... That was probably different, but there had to be things to do here. There had to! They could... Oh, they could totally go outside and just relax! And... They could... There was a library! But, then again... Illi had little to no need for a library. Laptops were much more diverse and could provide the same thing. So, there was outside and nothing else. Though, actually, outside was big. There was the forest, all the sports... Places... Oh, and there was the yard. Oh, woah! They could totally watch horror movies on Illi's laptop in the yard! Wait, what if he didn't like horror movies? Or if the laptop screen was too small... Oy. There really wasn't a whole lot to do. Maybe it was just all new to Illi. No, no, she refused to accept that.
He then asked if anything exciting was going on lately. Well... Nope. Though, there could be one thing... "I dunno, there isn't much that I've heard of, but there might be a drama meeting. I don't know if you're in that, but I signed up for it so I guess there might just be something about that!" She grinned, she was so pumped. Even if there was no meeting. She was in! Hopefully! "There are tons of things to do," she started, pacing a little bit, thinking while talking, "We could always just go to the yard and just relax, maybe watch a movie on my laptop or something," she continued to think, turning and pacing the other way, finger tapping lightly on her chin. "Then there are all those things for sports and stuff. But I'm not that good, just warning you." She laughed a little, thinking of just how awful she was. Except at soccer, she was actually kind of alright at soccer. For a student. Who doesn't play much soccer. At all. Ever. "I don't think it's a good idea to go to the forest, though, 'cuz I'd want to stay there for hours and hours and we don't exactly have that much time..." It was true. She would want to stay there for hours. But the main reason she didn't want to go there? That kid. Jerkface. She didn't want to encounter him ever ever again.
"Well, what do you want to do? There's gotta be something, and everything's better with another person!" she grinned and turned to face him, bouncing lightly on the tips of her toes a couple times. Now that she got a good look at him, she could honestly say that he was kind of cute. Though she didn't want to be going anywhere with anything. That wouldn't be good. It would probably be really awkward, too... Illi just met this guy, what was she thinking? She was obviously loopy. Not enough sleep or something. Maybe she was coming down with something. Oh, wait, that was impossible. Still, who in this school wasn't cute in some way? Besides jerkface. She cursed her inner monologue. Get off the darn topic! Heck, he was probably gay. All the boys who had everything going for them were. She was embarrassing herself. She even turned red, just a little bit of a blush came upon her face. At this rate she was definitely a certified creeper. Just like that song. It was probably made worse because she loved the song. Something-something-something-something-something-something-something do the creep! ...Oh, this was bad. This was stage ten. Certified nothing. She had a PhD. In, like, five different areas of creeper-dom. But there was nothing wrong with that if it was harmless!
She stopped pacing, but continued thinking. There had to be more things to do than three. She was really lucky she had brought her laptop. And to imagine she almost didn't! She would have nothing to do inside the school. Honestly, how did the Headmistress think that the students would stay in here when there was absolutely next to nothing to do once you've gotten used to everything around here? It was preposterous. Though, to be completely honest, Illi had only left once. And in doing that she met Wyatt, who was absolutely wonderful, and she managed to convince him that nothing was wrong at all with Power's kids! Or, at least, she thought. Still, she was doing what this whole isolation thing was for! But better, and she got to have more fun doing it. And hot chocolate. That hot chocolate was so good. And, suddenly, she wanted hot chocolate. Right now. Where would she get any? Ugh, the worst thing to do would be to think about it. She'd just want it even more. She had to think! What else could they do around here? Actually, that probably wasn't the best choice of what to think about, because... Well... You know.
