Ben was at a complete loss as he stared down at the young woman, completely dazed and forgetting what he said almost as soon as the words were out of his mouth. He needed to get his head on straight again and put his thoughts in order. Somehow he was able to prioritize. First thing first: make sure Chloe was all right. He knew how draining powers could be, even when you had complete control over them, and Chloe was clearly experiencing some very harsh side effects from her vision.
"How exactly is that easy for me to say?" he asked with a slight shake of his head. Nothing was really easy for him to say, or rather anything that was not demanding details about his vision was difficult to say. Years, however, of appearing in random places, sometimes in hostile areas and sometimes without warning, had helped him learn to control his emotions. At least mildly control them.
Why the hell was she trying to move already? It was clear to Ben, even as an outside source, that she was not in any condition to be even lifting a finger. "Chloe-" he cut himself off when she spoke again. He seemed to be doing that a lot. However, realizing that she could probably crumple back down to the floor at any second, he reached forward and gently wrapped his arm around her, trying to help her sit down on the bench. There was no way he was letting her do anything but sit when he really thought she should still be lying on the floor.
"Listen... what did you- ..." Did he really want to know? Yeah. He did. But she probably didn't want to think about it right now. He knew that he'd come back to this topic agains soon, but she deserved a moment to calm down. "Do you need to go to the nurse? Or... I mean, I don't know what to do. I've had students pass out in my class before, but not because of a vision..."

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe smirked at his response, he could be the one that tells her not to move. It was was easier said than done, she was itching to leave the Gym and was even willing to go to her physics class early and probably hear the teacher rant on about the laws of gravity. She found it stupid now since physics laws have been broken down by various student's power. Sh figured it was an exception like she was making an exception and easily succumbed to his arms as they wrapped around her. She was more careful not to touch him since she was in no state to see another vision. Chloe let her body be guided by him, she pushed herself up shakily despite her bodies protests. She could feel her leg muscles engaging in an attempt to drag herself onto the bleachers. Her whole body trembled and she gave way but not before she was hovering over the seat.
She heard her bum hit the bleachers with a soft thud. She blushed slightly and bit back the pain the whole endeavor had been. Besides a pain in the ass (no pun intended) her whole body was in pain. It was the only way to remind her muscles how to work. Painful, but necessary. She could feel her body trembling slightly and before she knew what she was doing she had her body resting up next to Mr. X's. She was careful not to let his tanned skin brush her contrasting pale skin. The edge of her charcoal top was on his skin but she was to tired to care anymore. As long as her skin was not in a danger zone (his skin) then she was fine. She exhaled the breathe she didn't realize she had bin holding. She wanted to pass out again in his arms but knew not to, she had given him more than enough stress over the past couple minutes.
"Listen... what did you- ... Do you need to go to the nurse? Or... I mean, I don't know what to do. I've had students pass out in my class before, but not because of a vision..."
Chloe glanced exhaustedly in his direction. She gave him a brief smile before shaking her head sending her air about her unintentionally. She liked how long it was and liked how it didn't seem to have become that dirty from the dusty floor. "No, I have had to deal with this before. There is nothing the nurse can do" Chloe didn't pretend to ignore the unfinished sentence he left. She wouldn't knowingly tell someone their future, it would only end up hurting them. She knew from experience how paranoid they get from knowing their own path in the future. It ends up happening anyway but the days, weeks or even months that were wasted worrying would only end up useless. Chloe refused to tell people their futures, he might have been a teacher but know one deserved to be told they were going to be shot. She closed her eyes resisting the urge to sleep leaning against him. She felt a calm serenity wash over her body slowly the longer she shut her eyes. "Sleep--" She muttered as she drifted off to sleep. NO She couldn't sleep pressed up against his arm. She snapped her eyes open but didn't have the strength to sit up on her own yet. She missed her baggy sweaters way to much. "sleep would help, no medical attention required. She muttered while trying to stay awake. Why did he have to be so dam comfy. She flicked her gaze at his lap, it seemed like the best place and curl up in a ball but knew she shouldn't. Chloe had already broken too many of his barriers and didn't want to cross the line without at least a warning. Sleep would be much welcomed." She pussied out, not a huge deal. She already felt like she owed him so much she didn't want him to feel uncomfortable. She closed her eyes as she hummed softly under her breath. She wanted to sleep but resisted the urge since she knew she wouldn't be comfortable and neither would Mr. X. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:704[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:ANOTHER BAD POST!!! Also would it be possible for her to actually end up curled up in a ball in his lap. No even like... an advil or something?" He could tell that she was still in pain, obviously, by every little flinch or twitch of her eyes as she moved. He hoped that this wouldn't last two long. He felt unbelievably guilty... he should have been more careful and made sure that there was no contact between them. If he had she wouldn't have passed out and had the vision and... well, it wouldn't change the future. It just wouldn't let them know the future. So... was it possible that this whole fiasco might be a good thing? If he could prevent whatever it was she had seen. Thinking about it was making his head hurt, and also helping making him panic a bit again, so he forced himself to concentrate on Chloe.
"I can contact the office and make sure you're excused from classes for the afternoon," he offered, "I could teleport you to your dorm room... or I have a couch in my office that you could rest on...or anything that you'd be most comfortable with, really." Whatever she wanted to do, he was determined to not let this rest. Sure, now he wanted Chloe to recover from her episode and he'd give her as much time as she needed to rest up, but once she was he wanted answers. He needed details to make sure her vision didn't come true. It was something that obviously concerned him, so she shouldn't be able to justify hiding anything from him, could she?
The close proximity between them wasn't really unnerving to Ben at all. He barely noticed it at all, actually. Usually he'd expect he would be uncomfortable with being so close to her, seeing as Chloe was a student and he a teacher, and if anyone came in they could quickly assume the worst. But no one ever came into the gym at lunch, well, except for Chloe obviously, so he was pretty sure they were safe. And it wasn't as though he had anything to fear from the young woman. She was completely harmless to him, other than the ominous visions she had of the future, but those weren't her fault in the first place. It wasn't like she was the one that was supposedly going to kill him. ...He hoped.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe smiled slightly as she felt his chest rise and fall with the time of his breathing. It made staying awake much harder than it should have been. She promised herself that she would open her eyes so she wouldn't fall asleep but she knew it was a lost cause. She could feel her eyelids remain closed, not even the pain her body was in was keeping her awake. A bad sign for sure. She noticed that her breaths had falling in time with Mr. X, it gave Chloe chills which transferred into goosebumps on along her skin.
"Are you sure? No even like... an advil or something?"
Chloe wouldn't mind an advil but she slightly shook her head in protest against his shoulder. She knew she would have no hopes at staying awake if she took the painkillers. Besides, Chloe had manned up in the past, she could do so now. Sure, the vision had never been so clear and long but it was no excuse. Chloe felt her body slowly starting to go limp as she relaxed farther no matter what her body was feeling. Her body was feeling to tired to care about the pain that lingered in her very being. Chloe couldn't hep but notice he smell again, it was intoxicating and almost lulling her to sleep faster than their synchronized breathing. She tried to open her eyes once more but decided it was better just to rest them for now. She could feel her head slowly starting to loll to one side of his shoulder, she fought it but she lost before she started. Right before she fell asleep she heard him start to talk, it didn't come to her ears as words but a general overtone to top off her X lullaby. She was asleep within seconds of his manly voice talking. It wasn't that she didn't want to her the words, it was just they sounded se much like you should sleep now. She knew that her mind was lying to her telling her what she wanted to hear. She didn't care as her body subtly slumped against him, his shoulder being the only thing keeping her from rolling off the bleacher and onto the ground. Whatever Mr. X was saying was lost on her as she slept dreamlessly. Her breathe became slightly louder and more noticeably more so when he finished talking. She could sleep through anything and probably wouldn't get woken if a lightning storm had entered the gym. Something that has happened before scary enough. As a silence fell over the two of them Chloe made a small grunt as she turned to curl up in a ball like a cat would normally do. Her legs came closer to her and she rested a little lower on his arm. Her head was completely limp as was her whole body. Her eyelids fluttered slightly as she continued to sleep. The sleep was deep and dreamless, a good thing since she would have dreamt of the blood of Mr. X if she wasn't so tired. She moaned slightly as she snuggled up to Mr. X without really noticing it. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Chloe was clearly not paying any attention to what he was saying; she was lost in her own dream world. For a moment Ben sat there, motionless, afraid that the slightest movement, even breathing, would wake her up. A few minutes of silence passed where the teacher only focused on the student's steady breathing, hardly daring to do any himself and disturb her. It wasn't until an echo of laughter rang through the gym from the hall outside that Ben realized they had to move. What if Miss Mays came in to check on how the new teacher was coping? This was a bit of a compromising position. He'd be fired on the spot.
There was no reason to move them too much, though. Within a millisecond the gym and bench turned into his office and couch, and much comfier and more private arrangement. They were in exactly the same positioning as they'd been before, with only the scenery around them changed. But after a moment Ben realized that he couldn't just sit still, even if he unintentionally woke Chloe up. His nerves were frayed, and that was harder to hide when he didn't have to worry about her seeing how freaked out he was. Sighing, Ben gently adjusted Chloe as he stood. He only moved a few inches at a time before pausing to listen to her breathing and make sure that she was still asleep. Soon she was laying lengthwise on the couch, her head resting against a square checkered pillow at the end of the couch. From a cupboard above the couch he fetched a quilt blanket and lay it across her to keep her warm, since it was cold in the office. Then he stood back and looked at her for a moment. Her face was angelically peaceful when she was asleep. It was almost easy to forget that she was the one who'd just predicted his death.
The little reminder of her vision was enough to make Ben move again. He walked over to the computer desk opposite the couch and sat down in the rolling chair. He went to Google, but wasn't sure what he was expecting to find as he typed in 'touch seer' to the search bar. Probably the weaknesses and limitations of their abilities. Things that could cause a vision to turn out completely wrong. Maybe the first week of September was some sort of opposite week for people like Chloe, where their visions were the direct opposite of what would actually happen. But no matter how long Ben sat at the computer desk, typing in desperate search after search, growing more and more panicked and fidgety, and praying that something useful popped up, nothing ever did. As far as he was able to tell from the internet there were no shortcomings whatsoever with Chloe's ability. There was even a website, though an incredibly amateurish one based around superheroes like the ones from Marvel comic books, that said that touch seers were among the most reliable seers that existed. Though that website was clearly nothing reliable to work off of, it was like the straw that broke the camel's back on Ben's nerves as he slammed his fist against the desk in frustration. "Shit."

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe released a small moan as she snuggled closer to her teacher. It was the first time she had teleported and if she had been awake it would have been cool to brag about. It was a shame that all she had to say was a muffle groan. She would probably die of embarrassment from the whole ordeal. Chloe was to tired to stir when he carefully placed on a pillow. She didn't even realize she had stretched out along the couch, something she never would have done if she were awake. Chloe tried to snuggle up to MR. X once more but only met the pillow which wasn't as soft or charming as Mr. X had been. She didn't care since she still smiled in satisfaction through her sleep.
The quilt made Chloe seem so small compared to the fabric which overwhelmed her small body. Her head barely peaked over the end of it and her body was dimly outlined by the fabric. If she had seen it she would probably killed Mr. X since she was so insecure about her body and now that she had developed breast she didn't like to be reminded by lumps in her shirts.... or in quilts. She still snuggled with the material and took in the scent, Chloe was asleep so she didn't know how it actually smelt but the action of sniffing made her smile subconsciously remembering Mr. X's scent.
Chloe wasn't awoken by anything Mr. X had done. she had no problem sleeping through the sweet fatherly things he had done for her. Chloe hadn't gotten a chance to eat during lunch since she was moping in the gym but her stomach growled slightly making Chloe rollover and expose part of her bare skin on her leg. Normally she wouldn't mind the covers sprawled over her like it currently was but it was really cold something she the rest of her body didn't notice since it was shielded with the quilt. Chloe blissfully slept until her stomach grumbled yet again, she stirred slightly and grimaced as she hadn't noticed her leg was freezing, enough to make her think it might have frost bite. Chloe tried to fall back asleep but her leg kept her awake.
She still kept her eyes closed and didn't question where she was since she found it nicer than the bench she had been on last time she checked. She slowly tried to tuck her leg back under the covers only to expose more of her leg. She turned her body so it faced the back of the couch. She curled her legs up underneath her and yet again tried to tuck her leg back in the quilt but again failed to expose a bit of her other leg. Normally she would get some kind of sense about the quilt since her skin touched it but it wasn't like touching people where she witnessed events. With objects she just had a steady undetectable flow of knowledge about the objects pst. Chloe wasn't picking anything up trying to remember anything about the quilt but she was too tired to bring forth the information besides the fact that she was in Mr. X's office and the quilt was kept in a small dark space. Chloe continued to draw any information on the past of the quilt but her hunger interrupted her thoughts. She didn't really know how long she had been sleeping but knew it had been a while since she was teleported or carried to this plae since legs don't grow that cold that quick. She guesstimated times but again her stomach growled followed by a couple clicks coming from somewhere in the room.
"shit"
Chloe couldn't mistake the voice, it was Mr. X. She could hear a hint of anger in his voice. Chloe has hesitant to move since she had an image of a wife beater she had once foresaw on a stranger when she was in grade nine before coming to Power's Academy. The man's tone had the same overall feel to it and Chloe shivered slightly before she slid out a snide remark. She would have continued to pretend to sleep but wanted to erase the memory from her brain. "Mr. X, I thought teachers weren't allowed to swear infront of impressionable minds like mine." She kept her tone light with her clearly fake concern about her offense and purity. Chloe had never really seen a teacher swear but she had heard way worse words and witnessed way more things. Chloe didn't roll over to face him but continued to keep her eyes closed. She slowly curled up into a tighter ball and opened her eyes and winced at the light. She started to count the couch fibers to try and distract from her stomach, her freezing leg and the fact that she was too tired to call up the history of the quilt. Chloe actually came to the realization she didn't want to know what the quilt had witnessed. She did not want to find out that Mr. X had lost his virginity at a park on top of this blanket. Chloe lost count of fibers and started counting again trying to distract herself from the mental image of Mr. X pumping away at some random girl on the blanket she now rested under. She got goosebumps wishing she had worn her usual long sleeved sweaters. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:904[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:I didn't realize its' length. He'd been so focused on his 'research' that he'd basically forgotten that she was in the room with him. It was easy to space out and think he was alone, when he rarely ever let other people inside his office. This small room was his safe haven of solitude. Just because he was a teacher didn't mean he was immune to stress, and already this year there had been many instances when he'd come to his office to relax after a long, frustrating day. Since others were rarely in the room with him, it was easy to forget when they were.
Was she seriously trying to make a joke right now? He didn't know whether to admire or be irritated by the fact that she didn't seem to be taking her vision too seriously, even though she had nearly made him have a heart attack a half hour before. "Impressionable minds are ages six through ten. Once you're eleven and over you've already been corrupted," he informed her in a monotonous voice, still staring at the glowing TV screen in front of him. "It's not as though you haven't encountered far worse."
He spun his chair around to look finally look at her, his expression completely blank. "Feeling any better?" Okay, that tone was probably not the most sincere that he could have possibly made it, but could anyone really blame him for being so frosty at the moment? He was pretty positive that anyone, no matter how kind they usually acted, would be a bit irritable and not sincere after the shock that he'd experienced.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] "Impressionable minds are ages six through ten. Once you're eleven and over you've already been corrupted, It's not as though you haven't encountered far worse."
Chloe couldn't help but smile as he stated the facts about impressionable minds. She also bit her lip to fight the frown that wanted to ruin her smile. By biting her lip her smile vanished anyway but it lay up in a small smirk. It was true, she had heard aswell as seen way worse but she still found it weird for a teacher to say things she expected her classmates to say. His words only reminded him of how young he was. Chloe knew that the goosebumps that were still on her arms were not there from nervousness of where the blanket had been, she fought back her blush but her cheeks still reddened a bit. Chloe turned yawned as she stretched out against the sofa. She still faced the back of the sofa but she wouldn't risk being seen blushing if he had been looking. She couldn't risk the embarrassment which would just make her cheeks turn into beats. Chloe let out a small moan as she finished stretching and curled up into a ball. She took several deep breathes and smiled like an idiot. She still had no real idea where she was but she could tell it was only them. Chloe should have been nervous or scared but she felt completely safe and completely normal in her ball of limbs on the couch. "Feeling any better?" Chloe sat up with much energy as she pulled the covers around herself to try and protect herself from the cold. She knew it wasn't that cold but she knew if she let it she would be freezing within twenty minutes, like her stupid foot. Chloe made sure to cover her feet since her foot was still freezing cold. It was the reason she wasn't blissfully sleeping like she wanted so desperately to be. She was just a bit groggy as she wiped her eyes like a little girl would if she saw Santa. Chloe probably guessed she looked like a lion of something since she had slept on her hair. It still feel gracefully around her but she knew it would probably be flat or puffy where she couldn't see it. She regretted sitting up but doubted she could lay back down, besides it felt good to look at something besides the fiber on the couch. Chloe didn't know how to answer his question so she simply nodded. She would have to be more careful about contact, she figured that her power had grown stronger without her noticing it, something her body wasn't aware of apparently. Chloe wanted to strangle her powers to death but instead she pulled up her gloves higher and gave a faint smile to Mr. X. She use to think it was funny that she thought of him as Mr. X but now she felt like it was to formal. She had seen his death and she knew it. She hoped she could prevent it somehow but she hadn't been able to change the future anyway, mind you Chloe had never been so determined and Chloe had never really been a main character in one of her visions. She wished she could go back to sleep but she couldn't now, she figured that Mr. X hated her but she just closed her eyes and scanned the room once she opened them. It wasn't dirty but it was defiantly well loved. She couldn't put her finger on where she was but she could be anywhere if he had teleported her. She kind of hoped they were in some tropical air conditioned hut but she doubted it, very unlikely. She open her mouth to speak but her voice was dry, not because she was thirsty but she felt guilty. They had probably broken at least half of the school rules. I have felt better." She knew she was trying to keep the mood light but she couldn't with his tone being so stern. It was like trying to make a clown sad. She wanted to add more to her stupid comment but she couldn't muster up the courage. I am so sorry... about everything" Chloe blurted out not meeting his eyes. She thought about running to the door and trying to escape but she knew the teleporter would beat her anywhere no matter how fast or clever she was. She was starting to feel not only terrible for bringing him into her personal life aswell as her supernatural one but she just stared at the floor. She glanced up and saw the computer screen beyond Mr. X. CHloe didn't really think much of it, he was allowed to surf the net while she was passed out. It was then Chloe noticed a girl in a tight spandex suit with the title Touch Seers at the top of the page. All the other writing was too small to read but she couldn't hide her disappointment. Most people avoided her when they found out she had seen something she shouldn't have but she didn't expect him to do research or something. She bit her lip and tried not to jump to conclusions. She stared back at the ground kind of wishing he left her on the gym floor. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:894[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:Another really bad post... Mind you, this was only his first year and first few days of teaching, but he was pretty certain that teachers didn't say what he had just said. When he'd been a student all teachers had even treated the seniors as though they were children. Swears were taboo. If a teacher had done that back when he was in elementary, they would have been fired. Things began to get more lenient when he was in the high school age. With changes of headmasters and headmistresses things became more lenient. Hell, the headmistress before Miss Mays had even allowed students to go to St. Michaels whenever they pleased. But it still wasn't encouraged for students to swear, and teachers were supposed to be setting the examples here. Oh well, it wasn't as though Chloe was going to tell on him like a rule obsessed twelve year old.
"Is there anything I can do to help? I mean... I don't really know if there is. It's not like this has ever happened in my class before. People can usually control their powers and... yeah. Well, is there anything?"
He was rambling. Just great. Just fantastic. Couldn't he keep his damn mouth under control instead of making himself look like some nervous fool? With a slight shot of amusement he realized that he was rambling like he had when he was a teenager and was talking to his crush, but this was of course an entirely different unrelated situation. He was just so uneasy and off guard and any other negative emotional description that fit with what had just happened in the gym.
His eyes narrowed a bit and he shook his head slightly. "No need to be sorry about anything," he muttered, his words barely even understandable to him. He spoke up a little bit louder, trying to sound like less of a pouting five year old who didn't understand what was going on. "Just... Jesus Christ, what the fuck did you see, Chloe?" If he was swearing, he might as well let loose. Maybe letting go of a bit of stress through swears would help him keep his sanity, which he was very surprised had hung around this long. "Explain it. All of it. Now." Yeah, he was being a bit demanding, but again, could you really blame the poor guy?

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] "Is there anything I can do to help? I mean... I don't really know if there is. It's not like this has ever happened in my class before. People can usually control their powers and... yeah. Well, is there anything?"
Chloe couldn't help but feel bad, he had brushed off her question like she didn't even say it. She refused to let it show on her face but she also found his rambling a bit strange. Most teachers were collected and reserved, mind you most teachers were not fresh graduates. Chloe shook her head, she didn't want his special attention, she actually didn't know what she wanted at the moment. She recognized the rambling but couldn't put her finger on where she has heard it before. Chloe mulled over where she heard the fast paced talking before, she barely made out his words. She closed her eyes for a moment and reopened them a couple second later. Tenth grade, Tom Hawkins, he had asked her out to the semi formal. She recounted many other incidences when people had asked her out or where she had been hit on. Chloe couldn't help but raise an eye brow, normally she would never talk to the person again but she couldn't help but blush. She tried to hold it in but her cheeks flashed a deep scarlet anyway revealing her discovery. She was embarrassed by the flicker of hope she had felt and instantly shoved it away scared of rejection she knew would be coming. She knew it probably was nothing but it still gave her some kind of hope, even hope she didn't want to admit she had. She tried to be subtle in her blushing but she knew her face was probably a giant beacon of embarrassment. "No need to be sorry about anything," Chloe's blush deepened, she forgot that she had even said sorry. She felt extremely sorry and knew she had a right to be sorry since she was a dumb ass for getting herself in this mess. Not to mention dragging Mr. X into the middle of it which made Chloe feel worse. She buried her face behind a curtain of her blond hair, making her feel a little less embarrassed of his watchful eye. Chloe wanted to protest knowing she was right but she knew her voice would probably be meek. Instead of debating her apology she instead bit her lip and looked up through her eyelashes checking if he was still looking at her. She silently wished she was asleep again. "Just... Jesus Christ, what the fuck did you see, Chloe?" Chloe snapped her head up sending her hair in a slow motion worthy descent into the air and flying across her shoulder and partly on her face. She let her mouth droop slightly in her shell shock. It wasn't that he had sworn, she could care less since she lived in a world that had taught her way worse things in her vocabulary. He wanted to know what she had seen. She she already was trying to forget it but she could see the fuzzy images moving in her mind's eye. She cringed as it became sharper and watched him get shot yet again. She tried to say anything but t only came out as a small squeak. She couldn't let him know his own future, she had witnessed first hand what it did to people. She wouldn't even tell the bitch in her trigonometry class that she was going to fail her next test, it was no surprise though. Chloe looked at Mr. X, she found it hard to believe that is face could even show the emotions of pain and fear, it was almost angelic in a sort of sexy way. Chloe would have blushed at her thought if she wasn't seeing the echo's of her vision over and over again in an endless loop. "Explain it. All of it. Now." Chloe held her tongue as it grew thick in her mouth. She felt like someone had grabbed her tongue out of her face and poked it rapidly with needles until she couldn't feel it anymore. She couldn't and wouldn't tell him what she saw but the look of determination in his eyes told Chloe she would have to say something. She sunk into the couch silently wishing it would consume her to avoid the explanation of why she couldn't tell him he would get shot and probably die. She played through the scene in her head. "no big deal but you might die in a forest and I try over your body, no big deal though." Chloe grimaced as she grabbed the quilt and pressed her face into it hoping it would give her some kind of courage. She barely chocked out an answer. "I. Can't."She released her grip on the quilt and let it fall in her lap. She avoided eye contact with him and instead played with her fingers like they were the most interesting thing in the world. She played through several way she could tell him something to soothe him but not tell him the truth of his future. None seemed to actually work so she just twiddled her thumbs stupidly since she was at a lack of words. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:1051 coded[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:I like this post! w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So he'd heard during a class when he was growing up at Power's that knowing too much about your own future was dangerous. Actually, he was pretty sure that he'd read the same quote in a book sometime in the last few years. But what if that information could save your life? Wasn't it worth knowing then? It wasn't as though that knowledge could screw things up for you any more than they were already destined to be 'screwed up'. For minor things in life, yeah, maybe it was best not to know. But for things as major as this how could he not know if he had access to the information through Chloe? He had to know what to avoid, where not to go, what not to say and do. The girl had the power to save his freaking life, and yet she wasn't going to give it to him? Did she want him dead? Of course not. She wasn't the type of student who held a grudge against humanity. But she was basically killing him by not telling him what was going to happen. It was his life, so didn't he deserve to know?
He honestly planned on pressing her for information in a gentler, kinder way. But stress made him irritable and snappy, so snapping is just what he did. Maybe a bit unfair, but he didn't care about what was fair or not right now. "You can't tell me? Bullshit, Chloe. Sure you can," he insisted, his voice a low frustrated growl. "It's easy. You just open your mouth, remember, speak and explain. Talking's what you learnt to do when you were two, right?" The 'can't say it' excuse didn't fly with him. It never had, even back when he was a student with his buddies and the topics they 'couldn't talk about' were far less serious than this one. It was a completely rubbish excuse and he really wouldn't stand for it. What kind of a person would just say something like that and then not bother to explain it, just leave him hanging? It was ridiculous! He could clearly see that she was trying not to look at him, and figured that if he could get her to do so she might crack, but the authoritative teacher thing probably wasn't going to work.
Not to sound like a cranky adult, but Ben had a moment of thinking 'Kids. Where's the respect?' like his parents had probably thought numerous times as he grew up, and like all teachers had probably thought of him while he was in one of their classes. He hadn't exactly been the most respectful student during his time at the academy, but he'd known like any other student that you couldn't just make a vague comment to a teacher, any vague comment, that interested them and then refuse to answer their question when they inquired for more details. It was part of the whole respect thing in life. It was basic common sense, actually. It was like taunting a dog with a treat, giving them the smell and sight of their favourite object and then not giving it to them. Unfair. Cruel. He wouldn't let her get away that easily.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe twiddled her thumbs mindlessly but was forcefully snapped back to the reality of her situation. She couldn't tell him and she refused to, most kids at Power were taught the dangers of knowing the future. Chloe wished Mr. X had paid more attention in class or they wouldn't be having this talk. She avoided looking anywhere but below her eye line as she set her mind on anything but what was currently swimming around in her head reverberating.
"You can't tell me? Bullshit, Chloe. Sure you can,"
Chloe let out a small yelp as and brought her legs up to her chest. She hugged them as she stared harder now choosing the quilt to be her point of interest. She disliked the tone of his voice, she had the feeling she couldn't talk her way out of this one without telling him what she had seen. She thought about what she should or shouldn't say. She tried to calculate her word right but came up with a blank. She had never seen herself in a vision except in the background, not crying or running down a hill weeping over a body. Chloe let a tear slip down her cheek, she wondered if she could change her actions or if they would end up being the same. She couldn't let herself think about it, she had never changed a vision before and she already almost died from energy loss. She was snapped out of her thoughts as his harsh voice lashed out at her once more causing her to flinch. "It's easy. You just open your mouth, remember, speak and explain. Talking's what you learnt to do when you were two, right?" Chloe put her head on her knees. She wanted to cry in frustration but knew it would only make her feel worse and look even younger than she already was. She held in the tears and looked at the angry looking Mr. X and felt her bottom lip quiver slightly. She cursed herself for looking like a scared puppy and instead made her decision. If she was to save his life she couldn't tell him. It was her job, she accepted it knowing what it would take to try and save it and all the unanswered questions she would have to piece together. She also figured it would probably risk her life but she didn't care if it meant saving an innocent she had the chance to protect. She felt the fire ignite as she stood up with a new determination. She let the quilt fall around her ankles as she grabbed for a way to tell him what she was going to say. She couldn't tell him she was going to save him, or that his life was in danger. Someone can't really live their life if they know there is a chance of their death in the near future. Chloe put her gloved hands on her hips and sunk into one of them letting all her weight rest on it. she didn't even realize she was speaking until she heard herself. "I can't tell you."She didn't miss a beat seeing her oppertunity. "What you are asking me is exactly the same as asking a man you never met how big their penis is."She also would have blushed in any other situation but she was slightly proud for standing up for herself. Normally she stood up for other people but never herself, it was a nice change for once since she normally accepted the fact she didn't deserve to be stood up for. "I am sorry but you just can't know because you aren't meant to know." Chloe bent down to pick up the quilt and noticed she was shaking slightly. She was nervous apparently but she never felt so good about her power before. She was going to stop this premontion from happening no matter what. If she died in the process that was just something she would come to terms with. Chloe stood up a blew away some hair that had strayed across her face. She held the Quilt in her arms and started to fold it. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote]

w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was well known among Ben's friends that he liked a bit of random unpredictableness in his life. He wasn't the type of guy who could do the same old thing day after day, which is why Gym was a good subject for him to teach because you could incorporate a bit of randomness into it. But whenever Ben said that he hated predictable, routine days where nothing exciting ever happened, he did not mean that he would prefer something like this. He would rather go to a military school than have this happen. Unpredictable in the way of having a girl faint because you touched her and then inform you of your imminent death was going a bit too far.
He wasn't really in the mood to even crack a smile at her reference. Usually he'd find the humor in it and at the very least smirk, but he couldn't find the energy to find it the slightest bit amusing. She was trying to create excuses for herself, and that just didn't fly with Ben right now.
"Not meant to know?" he hissed in disbelief. He felt like doing one of those 'headhand' motions that seemed to be so famous on the internet lately. Could she really be serious? Without realizing it he began to hammer her with questions. "What train of logic got you to that conclusion? I'm just supposed to sit back and let what happens happens? I'm not supposed to try to stop it? You're not supposed to try and stop it? Is your power only a preview of life to you? Then you just get to sit back and watch the show? That's ridiculous, Chloe! You could actually help here. How the hell can you say no?"
He couldn't remember the last time that he had been this frustrated with someone, but then again he couldn't remember the last time that he had been this stressed, either. Maybe his anger was misdirected at her. Maybe she actually had some genuinely good reasons for not explaining what happened to him, but couldn't she realize what the benefits of explaining her vision to him were?

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe folded the quilt slowly and dipped her head as she saw the look of anger reappear on his face. She dipped her head down slightly as she heard his voice come out as a hiss. She didn't like the sound as it didn't fit his personality. She shivered slightly as she felt bad for him no knowing. She wouldn't tell him but she would probably react the same way if she was in Mr. X's shoes. It still made Chloe want to run from his office and go someplace she could yell at something... or cry when no one is looking.
"Not meant to know?"
Chloe finished folding the blanket and easily could tell where it went since she could read bits and pieces of the quilt's past. She opened up the cupboard above the couch and placed the quilt in an empty spot where it belonged. She found it kinda creepy how she could tell certain things about an object by making skin contact. It wasn't that weird but sometimes she got flashes and sometimes she didn't. She turned on her heel and walked away from Mr. X as she heard the full on rant he was raging on about. SHe could see where he was coming from but why couldn't he see what she was trying to tell him. How the hell can you say no?" Chloe was walking to another room of the small office which she presumed was the kitchen. If anything she guessed it might be a little bigger than a closet, probably have a small sink, a microwave and possibly an oven. She knew the Oven was wishful thinking but it was worth a shot to check. She could feel her stomach growling. She turned to face Mr. X as her gloved hand gripped the side of the doorway between the sad excuse of a kitchen and the room Mr. X was in. "If you try and stop it from happening it will only happen sooner and more gruesome. You think I would just stand back and watch knowing what might happen?" Chloe turned into the mini kitchen and frowned as it lacked an oven, she didn't let it stop her too long since she already had opened the mini fridge and smirked. She pushed past a couple beer bottles until her fingers grasped the jam container and pulled it out of the mini fridge. She shut the fridge with her hip as she shouted to Mr. X unsure if he would follow her into the kitchen or just stay in the room. "Watch me, ready... NO!" She yelled responding to a previous comment which she guessed normally would have made her feel guilty. Chloe placed the jam on a small cramped counter. She opened up a pantry door and spotted some peanut butter and some bread. She pulled them down from the shelves and placed them on the counter next to the jam. Chloe heard her stomach rumble once more and shut the pantry closed with her hips. She wondered how long she would try and delay another argument with Mr.X. Chloe tried not to think about it since she already felt bad for being so mean to him and so unsympathetic. Chloe shuffled around the pitiful kitchen and started opening drawers looking for two knives to spread the Peanut butter and the Jam on the bread. She wished she had an oven or a toaster to toast the bread but she would take what she got. Chloe frowned as she scratched her head wondering where the fricking knives could be. Chloe heard her stomach rumble once more and wished she could just have a PB and J sandwich now. IT was too much effort to actually make it. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote]

He couldn't understand her thinking and logic. Did she really think he cared that it might be any use? He wasn't the type to just sit back and wait for things to run their course, especially if they were dangerous. He had to at least try to stop it, for his own sanity. Even if it was just a soccer game or something, and his team was down 5-1 with ten minutes left, he had to go full force to try and win even when the rest of his team had given up. It might be an entirely hopeless quest, but at least it gave Ben a bit of purpose for the day. Sports and this situation were very different, of course, but the basic idea of Ben was still the same. What sane human being wouldn’t do the same in this situation? It was in the human nature to fight. “And it’s either you stand back and watch, knowing what could happen, or I sit around waiting for it to happen. No could, might, or maybe about it!”
He seriously could scream in frustration right now, if he were the type of man to do that. She was the most thick-headed young woman he had ever met in his life, and trust him, he’d met a lot of them, students and people his own age alike. It seemed to him like she was more worried about herself and her responsibility than she was about him, and he wouldn’t stand for that. He didn’t give a bit of care to her feelings or precious guilty-conscious when his own life was concerned.
“You know, you’re really one of the most idiotic people I have ever met.” Yeah, he was pretty much completely out of teacher mode right now. He didn’t care about being politically correct, getting fired, or proper ways to address a student. “Pretty damn selfish, actually. I didn't think you, out of all of the students, would be like this but hey, what do I know?" He shook his head, ignoring the fact that as he was speaking she was rummaging around in his food. That was hardly on his list of priorities right now. "I think you should leave."
