Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Chloe sighed as she sat with her back against the cool brick wall on the far side of the Gymnasium away from the door. She hated the Gym, it made her feel like she was a mouse searching for a piece of cheese in a maze. She hated how they treated them like any other person with a heart beat, it was just smoke and mirrors. Chloe could see through the fake smiles the teachers displayed, it was almost nauseating having to watch them try and treat them like normal kids. Anyone who was cursed enough to go to the school was clearly extraordinary.
It wasn't like Chloe wanted to be treated different, but it would make her feel better if there wasn't a mask to try and hide how wrecked their lives would be from being themselves. She felt so ordinary, even sitting on the wooden floor felt surreal knowing she could remove her gloved hand and touch the wood and see which person would run on it next or the last person who had walked right here she was sitting. It wasn't like Chloe had asked to be different from most teenagers, most teenagers asked to be the same, but apparently she hadn't asked to fit in enough. She was cursed to get her education isolated from the world. She bit her lip fighting back her sappy emotions, she would wait to cry, it wasn't the place or time.
She should have been on the grounds or the cafeteria eating her lunch but she was getting tired of watching the past of every single thing she ate. Chloe closed her hands into fists as she slammed them on the wooden Gym floor. It probably hadn't been swept in a while and she could feel the heat in the air that was residue from the last P.E class. She could also smell the faint smell of sweat that clung to the Gym like a leach, it always smelt like that. Chloe let her head slide back so the top of her golden blonde head rested on the bricks. She stared up at the ceiling where she could see the rafters.
She wondered what it would feel like to stand on one and look down on everything almost like a guardian angel. The risk that was involved also electrified Chloe. One false move and you would be sent spiraling to the wooden floor everyone walked on without really noticing. Chloe shivered as she shook the though from her mind, she refused to sulk when it was such a sunny day. Chloe didn't care actually since she would probably spent the lunch hours sitting where she was, sun or not.
Chloe removed her gaze from the rafters and decided they looked sinister in a way. She decided looking at the change room doors would be more entertaining. She quickly became bored and could feel her sulking continue to go on. She cursed herself and her emotions as she stood up. She regretted it instantly since she saw black dots dance across her vision from getting up too fast. She flattened out her skirt and regretted her outfit choice. Her top was an athletic top so it clung to her curves and her skirt was way shorter than Chloe would have liked. She hated the looks it got her but she loved how it looked. Chloe started to walk across the Gym towards the dressing rooms. The smell of body odor grew stronger with every step. She didn't understand why guys smelled so much more than girls, that didn't stop her from wearing deodorant and perfume that smelled like candy or fruit.
Chloe stood in between both change rooms, the stupid neat print lay near the top of both doors. Like someone couldn't tell the difference between the two. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see which on was the guys change room. It had a clear smell of sweaty jockstraps wafting form the door. She ignored the odor and ran her gloved fingers across the wooden door. She almost wished she could remove her glove and see who opened it last or who would open it. She paused at the thought and decided she didn't want to see what lied on the other side of the door by accident. She didn't need to see any towel fights or comparing. She shuddered and removed her finger from the door. Chloe leaned against the brick wall between the two doors and flipped her hair out of her face. It was then she heard a door open. She didn't know which door but all she knew was she had company. It could be a good thing if it meant she didn't have to wallow in her emptiness and lack of content.

w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "So far so good," Benjamin Xezonatos muttered, taking his food (simple mac and cheese) out of one of the three clean, white microwaves that the staff had for their specific use in the staff lounge. He'd been nervous, coming back to St. Power's. He loved the school. He truly did. After the fiasco of his childhood with the whole 'waking up on the neighbor's roof' thing when he was nine years old, this school filled with abnormal people just like him was a haven. He'd experienced the best years of his life at this school; his first kiss, his first date, his first sports team, his first parties and his first hangovers... all had occured within this campus. He loved it here, but seeing the school from a teacher's point of view, or being supposed to see it from a teachers point of view, was entirely different from entering the school as a student. He had responsibilities, rules to actually obey to set a good example, and lessons to plan. Thankfully Phys. Ed. was a pretty good class to teach. There wasn't any homework to mark, unless he went out of his way to create more work for the students and himself, but it was still difficult to adjust to the life of a teacher when he'd been one of the carefree souls currently scattering the field out in the front of the building for lunch.
He looked around the staff lounge for a few moments. Teachers were scattered here and there, resting on the couches, grouped around the TV, or just sitting at a table eating and quietly talking. It was all too... serious for him. There was no relaxation; it seemed as though the teachers were just waiting for a student to come barrelling through the doors to scream about some accident that had occurred as a result of uncontrolled powers. The atmosphere in the room just wasn't one that suited Ben's style at all. He needed a more relaxed area so, without excusing himself or saying a word to anyone else, he left.
Usually Ben would just teleport straight into the gym, but that was apparently discouraged. After all, the point of this school was to teach restraint and control to the students. A teacher using his power all willy nilly wouldn't exactly help that school policy. It was weird to get used to walking everywhere, but this job was important to him and he didn't want to lose it because he couldn't kick himself out of a lazy habit.
However, that 'no unnecessary use of powers' policy didn't apply when there was no one around to see him. Ben walked into the gym, and scanned his eyes around for a good place to spend lunch. The top of the wooden bleachers seemed like a good idea. There was a slight whoosh of air, like a light breeze from a fan, and the next second he was sitting on top of the closed bleachers, completely relaxed. He fished a remote out of his pants pocket and pressed a button, which instantly made the latest hits start playing out of the speakers that hung among the rafters. Yeah, the gym was definitely the best place to relax. It may not be cushy like the staff lounge, but it was still a million times better.
It was about five seconds of being perched atop the bleachers before Ben realized that he was not alone. He scanned his brown eyes over the gym and caught a glimpse of blond that did not belong in what he'd assumed to be an empty room. A student. Fantastic. Not that company wasn't welcome, it was just that he didn't want to get in trouble for using his power in front of her... aw, screw it. Another whoosh of air, another disappear act, and another reappearance right in front of the student.
"Can I help you miss...?" Ben trailed off, realizing that he didn't know the mystery student's name. She was familiar, but to be honest that meant nothing. He'd probably seen every single student in the school in the halls by this point, or she could be in one of his gym classes for this semester. Neither meant that he'd know her name yet. The school year had basically just started, he hasn't had time to learn people's names.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Chloe bit her lip as she slowly turned to look over her shoulder try to remain inconspicuous. She held her breathe as she turned slightly more to see who was there. She brushed her hair off her shoulder letting it fall down her back in long blonde curls. As Chloe peered over her shoulder she found no one standing on the Gym floor as she expected. Chloe turned so her body now leaned against the small wall space in between the two change rooms. She scanned the room wondering if she was looking for some kind of teenager trying to sneak up on her with ninja powers. Chloe paused mid thought. Was ninja a power? She wondered.
Her thoughts were soon interrupted by music that came blasting out of unseen speakers. Chloe released a small yelp of surprise as she pushed herself farther back into the wall trying to hide herself as this person was doing. Chloe looked up to where she guessed the music was coming from. She rose her eye level slowly scared of what she might find in the bleachers. Chloe always disliked the bleachers, too much energy being jeered through the people that sat in them and too much lust for couples who made out under them. Chloe avoided them usually but tended to sometimes stretch near or on them during PE. She saw a flicker of movement from the bleachers but didn't get a chance to see what had caused the movement. All she saw was the speakers playing their music like Chloe wasn't ready to have a heart attack at any moment. It was a shame that the music wasn't from some serial killer movie since Chloe would have acted the part ready to wet her pants... acted isn't the right word when you mean it.
Chloe blinked and jumped about two feet of the ground in pure shock. One moment she had been staring at the speakers and now she was meeting the shoulder of some guy. She was glad she hadn't released another yelp or worse, a shriek. Chloe grabbed her arms and rubbed them up and down like she was trying to warm up. She met eye contact with the man and recognized him as the PE teacher. She kind of wished that she could erase the last couple seconds from his mind but knew nothing of that sort would happen. It took everything in chloe not to yell at him for almost making her soil her skirt, her favorite one too. Chloe was startled once again as he spoke to her.
"Can I help you miss...?"
Chloe didn't hesitate to respond with how she should continue his sentence. "WHAT THE HELL! Are you crazy or something cause last time I check you didn't go around popping your stupid face everywhere scaring everyone to death!" Chloe paused to take a deep breathe before finishing her startled yelling bout she gave him an annoyed look. Chloe was over the fact that he had no manners apparently but that didn't stop her from pointing it out to his face. "Chloe Bennett, I am in your period two class." She said blushing slightly feeling bad for cussing him out. He did deserve it but it didn't mean she had to be rude about it. She wanted to open her mouth and say sorry but as she opened her mouth she took in how young he was. Okay, she was lying, she took in how hot he was. She shut her mouth hesitantly and wanted hit herself on the forehead. She had been in his class earlier but wasn't really paying attention since she hated running and sweating and be part of a team and all that bullshit. She didn't realize just how smoking he was, what an idiot for totally making herself look like a complete bitch in front of him. Chloe's blush deepened into a red instead of a pink. She released the breathe she didn't realize she was holding. She wanted to learn how to teleport and go anywhere but in the small gym. Anything felt to small since her embarrassment was crushing her at the moment. She grimaced as she glanced down at her shoes. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote]

w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Okay, so this girl was apparently just a bit skittish. Benjamin realized that a crucial moment too late as the shock registered on the young girl's face and her body jerked with surprise. He honestly hadn't meant to terrify her. He'd assumed she would have noticed him walking into the gym, or realized that she was not alone in the room. The gym door wasn't exactly the quietest thing in the building. But maybe he'd teleported too soon afterwards for her to notice, or she hadn't seen him sitting on top of the bleachers. He hadn't exactly been trying to make sure that she was aware of his presence when he hadn't realized that she was in the Gym at all.
Well... at least she clearly wasn't one of those students that cowered at the sight of a teacher, terrified about the idea of getting in trouble for something they didn't even know was wrong. Ben knew that there had been, and still were, a few teachers like that at Power's Academy. With every school came a certain amount of teachers that just seemed to hate the world. He'd encountered a lot of them when he was still a student here. But he wasn't one of those teachers. He liked to think that he was the easy-going one that students could relate to, at least a little bit. Either way, Chloe's blow up clearly showed she wasn't afraid of him. He had to admire that. Whereas some teachers might be insulted at the extreme lack of respect he was merely amused.
"You have a flare for the dramatics, Ch- Miss Bennett," Ben had to catch himself just in time to stop himself from calling her such an informal name. She didn't seem to be too pleased with him, and he didn't want to get into even more trouble if she decided to share this meeting with someone else. "But perhaps some of that nervous energy could instead be channeled into paying more attention to your surroundings? I wasn't trying to sneak up on you, and you could have easily seen me when I entered the gym." He wasn't trying to scold her; if anything their tone was light, easy going, joking even. He was apologetic that she'd been so surprised by his entrance, even if he didn't feel as though it was his fault. "I am sorry for startling you, though," he remarked casually, perhaps not sounding as sincere as he should.
She wasn't exactly dressed as though she were here in the gym for fun. In fact, if he was remembering correctly, she wasn't the type who enjoyed Gym at all. He didn't really understand why. For Ben there was nothing greater than the exhilaration that came with a good game of dodgeball or a nice run. Skirts, gloves, a tight fitting top... she seemed to be dressing like any popular girl who wanted all eyes on her. The way she dressed didn't seem to fit in with the fact that she was hidden alone in an empty gym.
"So, back to my previous question. Can I help you? Or are you just looking for a place to hide away from the crowd over lunch?"

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Chloe almost missed what he was saying to her. She chose the instant that he started talking in the deep sexy voice to look up at him. She was still blushing the deep crimson but she still froze up seeing his mouth move while looking at her. Usually guys were freaked out around her since she wore gloves and know one really knew what she was capable of. Neither did Chloe for that matter but that didn't stop her from avoiding them. "You have a flare for the dramatics, Ch- Miss Bennett, But perhaps some of that nervous energy could instead be channeled into paying more attention to your surroundings?"
Chloe nearly died on the spot. She might as well printed the word dumbass on her forehead in the toxic permanent marker as a warning to others. Chloe couldn't think of an intelligent thing to say so she just dipped her head a little and decided to stare once again at the floor. Her blonde locks covered her face shielding her eyes from his stare. She might as well have become a mute or suddenly become brain dead, she always had at least something witty to say. Most of the time she bit her tongue to hold it in but anything would be better than to hear his apology and have nothing to say in return. She wanted to open her mouth but knew she would just let it hang open, a pointless and stupid looking gesture. And what did he mean dramatic? Chloe decided to take it as a compliment even though she knew it might not be intended to be so since she did just call him stupid and a slew of other things. "I wasn't trying to sneak up on you, and you could have easily seen me when I entered the gym. I am sorry for startling you, though,So, back to my previous question. Can I help you? Or are you just looking for a place to hide away from the crowd over lunch?" "It isn't your fault, I am just- well stressed. I don't know what has gotten into me recently." Chloe had spoken before she could think about it. Probably a good thing, school had just started and ranting on to some PE teacher whose class she didn't even want to take to begin with. She almost wished she had taken her chances with the crowd. She decided to screw the teenage girl inside of her that was giving her stupid emotions such as her current embarrassment and she forced herself to calm her hormones. She was a human, not some sort of antisocial being that hid behind her hair. Chloe flicked her hair back leaving her stupidity behind her, it would haunt her later, but currently she wasn't in the mood to sulk in front of a teacher, let alone a very hot one. Chloe broght back her shoulders, sure normally she would never wear such cloths like her athletic tank top which was a little to snug to her liking but that wasn't going to stop her confidence. Besides, she would have to fake it to make it if she was ever going to get to medical school. They didn't really let in touch seers last time she checked. Her future always seemed to leak into her mind, a constant pressure... Her future. "I lied actually, I know what has gotten into me but it doesn't matter since it is out of my hands. Chloe didn't let the regret seep into her voice like she wanted. She came to the gym to sulk but she had better things to do. She was wearing one of her favorite outfits she would normally never wear in public. She usually wore it as good luck and she wasn't going to let it down. "And yes, I came to avoid the crowds, they are like mindless man whores looking for the next female to scrutinize and I wasn't in the mood to get undressed with their eyes." Chloe stated it like it was a fact. Well it practically as but she didn't feel bad stating her teenage wit on others. Besides, he was practically still a teen himself. She kind of wished that she wore her usually baggy sweater but she knew that she had to keep the luck and tradition. Ever since she was little the first test back to school she always wore her most "in" outfit. A little weird but it had always scored her next to perfect scores on her tests. It also made her smile to see the popular girls faces wondering where she came from. Whatever worked, and besides, she did look really good. Sure she disliked how much of her figure was showing but she didn't care if it meant she would ace the Biology test later on that day. She wondered why the teacher was there but she decided it was best not to ask. She felt bad enough using some of the Big words she had used early. WOuld he care if she said whore? He doubted it since a couple years earlier he was one of the man whores. She wondered if he still was. She contemplated if he had noticed her outfit yet... how old was he anyway, probably old enough to still be a man whore. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:893[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:Really long and pointless post but whatever! It wasn't as though he was ancient and had a lack of memory. He knew how school could affect any kid. Even the normal ones felt the pressure of homework and exams and their peers. The kids at Power's Academy had the added 'bonus' to their workload of learning to control their abilities that made life incredibly inconvenient for them. There had been many times for Ben when he'd first arrived at Power's (even for a few years afterwards) where he would randomly disappear in the middle of class. Poof. Gone. It wasn't that he was trying to skip, he just didn't have the control over his ability to stop teleportation from happening. His control over his power had decreased whenever he became stressed, too, so there were times of the year, such as the beginning of a new semester or exams, when everyone knew not to panic if Ben suddenly wasn't there. Once he collected himself he'd be back in a few hours. Anyways, the point was that he definitely understood how frustrating stress was, and how you needed to escape from everyone sometimes or else you'd spazz out. He couldn't really blame this student.
"I can take a bit of the blame, I guess. If you're not used to me popping around all the place, which not many people are anymore, it can give you quite a shock. I won't promise it won't happen again, though. Especially if you hang out here." Ben was fairly confident that he wouldn't be getting into any trouble from Chloe. She seemed to be pretty friendly, despite the initial blow up; not the type of student who would run around to report every mistake a teacher made to the headmistress.
"Saying something is out of your hands is basically giving it permission to do whatever it wants," he shrugged, giving in his two cents whether she wanted them or not. Even when he was a student and not in a position of authority that demanded respect he'd had a habit of blurting out whatever he wanted when he wanted. It was his odd way of giving advice. "Whatever it is, I'm sure you can get a hold of it."
He had to chuckle at her blunt wording, but to be honest she was right. Other than the fact that they could read minds, communicate with animals, or any other freaky ability that students at Power's Academy possessed, they were all normal. They were just as insanely hormonal as any other kid their age in the entire world, and what guy could not appreciate good looks? For that matter, what girl could not appreciate good looks? Each gender seemed to have their eye on the other gender (or their own gender, depending on what way they swung) in high school. "Well, I guess the gym is a good place to hide out, then. 'Till I can get Intramurals started- If I can get intramurals started. Other than the occasional happy couple that I have to chase away from under the bleachers, it's generally pretty quiet for now." Back when Ben had attended Power's Academy as a student there had been a weekly sports game in the gym at lunch, for whatever students wanted to come. It had been pretty popular then, but apparently the tradition had been dropped in the last few years. It was something that Ben wanted to talk to Miss Mays about restarting.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] "I can take a bit of the blame, I guess. If you're not used to me popping around all the place, which not many people are anymore, it can give you quite a shock. I won't promise it won't happen again, though. Especially if you hang out here."
Chloe rolled her eyes as he took some of the blame. Sure, he was a teacher but he sure didn't contribute to the piles of homework she got every day. She had never really heard of Gym teachers giving homework unless they were either over achievers or just wanted to be hated. Chloe shrugged anyway, it wasn't his fault why she was stressed. School in general just brought out the stress, It didn't help that she had a full coarse load and was taking online courses aswell to get the credits she needed to graduate AND the classes she needed to take as prerequisites. Chloe also should have been use to the powers she witnessed almost daily. It was kind of overwhelming but she should have been use to it after three years. Apparently not since she was startled by a teleporter, why she didn't piece it together was beyond her. Chloe should have been immune to surprise but she found herself amazed at just how many gifted teens and adults attended the school. Chloe was still amazed at how she discovered new people and their powers on a daily bases. It was probably because Chloe didn't go flaunting her powers like most of the students. Chloe refused to let her power be a stupid little display like most kids made it out to be, sure, playing with fire in class is great but not necessary. Besides, she didn't have a really useful power. If she ever got into a fight to save her life or something happened she would be screwed. Kids would probably blow things up with their minds and Chloe would sit in her class doing her homework probably. "Saying something is out of your hands is basically giving it permission to do whatever it wants, Whatever it is, I'm sure you can get a hold of it." Chloe resisted the urge to snicker at him. She couldn't operate on someone when she is too busy getting flashbacks of their life. She wanted to snap at him again but yet again bit her tongue to hold back the fire she wanted to throw at him in the form of verbal angst. She couldn't ever become a doctor, she had the brains and the determination, but lacked the ability to actually do anything about it because of her power. Besides, the world doesn't even know about the academy, she would be shoved in a small lab where they would do tests on her to somehow make her into a military fighting machine if they ever found out about her power. Chloe shook her head slightly sending her hair to fall over her shoulder again. She didn't fix her hair as she resisted the urge to cry, she could feel her eyes start to water up. Chloe could hear Mr. X going on about some lunch time scheduling but she tuned him out. She was still dwelling on her future. She wanted to become a doctor so bad, it was her calling, but it was out of her hands. She wanted to fight for it but that was what she was doing her whole life, fighting to have control over her life. Chloe wanted to run at the doors and sprint to the girls washroom where she would be left to sulk, probably earning extra credit for how fast she would run too but she couldn't. She wanted to but she just couldn't leave Mr. X here, he could cut her off in a blink of an eye. Explaining would be horrible and she would probably have to. Se held in the tears but her eyes were welling up anyway. Her eyes betrayed her. a stray tear flowed down her cheek slowly, she didn't realize at first since she was still pretending to listen to him. She only noticed when he stopped talking. She noticed it racing along her cheek towards her jawbone. She would have brushed it off but she didn't want to call attention to it, he might not have noticed. If she walked away he might let her go without asking anything. Chloe forgot she had her back against the cool brick, she might be able to sneak in the girls change room but he might catch on. Chloe's eyes betrayed her as the tears started to pour out from her eyes and her breathe grew shallow. She wanted to stop but she couldn't help the tears that were following the trail that the first tear had made. She wished she was a graceful crier like in the movies but she knew she probably looked like a mess, it would only take a few more minutes to make her nose start to run. Chloe didn't think as she lunged forward and grabbed the back of Mr. X's shirt. She grabbed a handful of cloth being carful not to touch him by accident. She was glad she had worn long gloves today. She clung to him like a baby would cling to its' mother. Chloe had holed herself up and had refused to accept her future as a nobody. She could have been a doctor but now she would probably end up working at some McDonalds. She dug her head into his shoulder as she sobbed, she could feel her tears soaking into his shirt, she knew she would feel bad after but right now she didn't care. Chloe knew he was probably holding up most of her weight and also knew that he might touch her skin by accident but she wouldn't mind passing out at the moment. Sure, she want to know Mr. X's past or future but it was worth the comfort he was providing her without really knowing it. She couldn't help but notice that he smelled like musk and man put together and she could smell his shampoo aswell, she brushed the smells away as she cried out her stress and frustrations. Why did life hate her, if there was a god.... He was a Jackass. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:1061[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:I HAD PERMISSION TO CRY ON HIM! w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Emotional teenage girls were not Ben's strongpoint. It never had been. All of his relationships that he'd had back when he attended St. Power's... they'd all failed for one main reason. The guy did not deal well with negative emotions. Whenever one of this girlfriends had a bad day, he could do nothing but stand there and awkwardly respond to their rants and sobs. His responses were never what they were looking for, and in their emotional state he'd had more than a few vases thrown at him. (That was when teleportation came in handy). Then when they'd calmed down there would be the accusations that he wasn't supportive enough; that he didn't care, and soon enough he'd be single again. It wasn't that he didn't care, he just never knew the right things to say when a female became overly emotional. The guy was a teleporter, not a mind reader.
So when he saw the first tear fall down Chloe's cheek, he did become quite worried. He didn't want to have to console her. Not that he wanted to just leave her standing in distress either, but he wouldn't have any idea what to say. When she suddenly launched herself to him and clung on as though she were a drowning woman and he was a life jacket, he had no choice but stick around. He could have teleported, but he might have accidentally taken her along for the ride, which was a rude sort of startle to anyone who teleported. If you weren't used to it, it churned your stomach and could make you launch your lunch. He'd made that mistake with a few of his friends who wanted to see the world when they were students.
After a moment of awkward hesitation, Ben realized that he couldn't just stand there and do nothing. Trying to act as natural as he could, very aware that this probably broke a million codes of teaching conduct, he wrapped his arms comfortingly around her, well aware that if someone, say Miss Mays, happened to walk into the gym right now he could very well be fired. "Hey, c'mon. Things can't be that bad, Chloe." If he was hugging her, he might as well throw the whole 'addressing her properly' thing out the window, too. "Whatever it is, you've just got to give it time. Things will work out for the best, and if they don't, it's up to you to make it the best." Yeah, he was pretty much just bullshitting an answer while adding in a favorite saying of his mother's. She'd always said that if things don't work out the way someone wanted them to, it was up to that person to make the best of the situation. It was practically the family motto. He laughed at himself as he realized what a fool he must sound like. "If you ignore how idiotic that sounds, there's truth in it. Things probably aren't as bad as they seem."

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Chloe didn't hold back her tears, they flowed easily from her tear ducts. It was like every tear just fueled the next one. She didn't even know she had to cry so badly until she started. Chloe had no shame currently as she gasped for air as she chocked on nothing, Why was sobbing so unattractive. Chloe could feel Mr. X embrace her. She smiled liking the comfort that he gave her, he made her feel safe from whatever was trying to ruin her life. Chloe didn't need to be reminded why she cried, she sobbed harder as Mr. X started to try and coo her. Almost anyone would so it didn't really phase Chloe that he did so now.
"Hey, c'mon. Things can't be that bad, Chloe. Whatever it is, you've just got to give it time. Things will work out for the best, and if they don't, it's up to you to make it the best."
Chloe shook her head in his shoulder, his now currently damp shoulder. He didn't understand, He had a job teaching future power graduates. He couldn't be more than five years older than she was and he already had a job he liked. Chloe would never find that. "You don't understand, The future is cold for everyone." She sniffled slightly as the sobbing slowed down a bit so she could choke out the words. She wasn't about to tell him that she had seen the future and knew how unforgiving it was. One decision could lead to a death and another one could lead you with nothing. It was a cold lesson but Chloe had seen it many times by accident. She let a couple silent tears trail down her face. It was easier to give him false hope that she might be accepting the fact things might get better. She knew t was a lie, she would be some fast food manager in five years and she would still wish to be a doctor. Chloe gripped his shirt harder, she didn't realize that her nails were probably digging into his skin. "If you ignore how idiotic that sounds, there's truth in it. Things probably aren't as bad as they seem." Chloe chuckled slightly, it was just a small shake of her shoulders but it still showed something besides the hopelessness she felt. She wished life was so simple, she wished she could summarize it in a sentence but she knew it would be like trying to name every religion in the world. Chloe let her head slump slightly and bit the seam of his shirt. She felt like biting things would make it feel better, it was better than biting her lips like she usually did, but she still felt bad as she bit into the fabric softly. He probably wouldn't notice her weird habit anyway. She could sense his stiffness. Chloe wanted to stand up and wipe the tears out of her eyes and walk out of the gym like nothing happened. "Things aren't bad from where you stand. You are a gym teacher with the ability to transport!" Chloe muttered in a soft voice. She was getting a little better, she wasn't a sobbing mess like she was moments before. She felt way worse but now the tears just streamed down her face soundlessly, almost like she had given up on feeling frustrated and screwed over. He might not of heard her mutter it but she wasn't going to leave it at that, she couldn't. She couldn't just cry into him and expect him to read her mind and know what's wrong. Only the old bitch teachers could do that. He wasn't much different from her in a way but she wasn't going to dig deep into it. Do you know how hard I push myself for the thread of hope I might get to apply to med school? Chloe asked as she felt another tear stream down her face. She watched as it seeped into his shirt. "Do they even recognize this as a litigate school to accept applicants from?"She questioned, she already knew the answer. They wouldn't accept her, the school was unknown and she couldn't whip out fake school records to apply. Or the fact that my power limits what I can do in the future. Medical school is out of the question. She knew they wore gloves all the time but she knew it only took one slip up and she would see that patients life and only surgeons got to operate. If she was a family doctor she couldn't even check for tumors or check blood pressure. She couldn't stop the silent tears that came with the shattered hope of her future. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Well. If that wasn't an ominous statement, Ben really didn't know what was. He was one of those guys that always had to lighten the mood, to always look on the bright side and help others look on it, too. Life was easier when you weren't dwelling on the negatives. There was something chillingly true about what she said, though. Even if Ben didn't want to think of it, in a way she was right. No matter what people did, life always ended and much of the time it ended way too soon. And if he was remembering right, and interpreting what she said correctly, Chloe could see the future. He couldn't imagine the types of chilling things she had seen as she grew up, especially when she'd had absolutely no control over her power. It really wasn't too much of a wonder how she could be so pessimistic about the future and her life.
Her grip on him seemed to be getting tighter and tighter, but Ben didn't try to loosen it or push her away. He didn't want her to think that he was pushing her away as if he didn't care at all. A bit of physical uncomfortableness was something that he could easily put up with.
He chuckled a bit, trying to lighten the mood in his own weird way. "I'm just a gym teacher with a freaky ability. That's a sentence I never thought I'd hear." In the normal world, if people actually knew what he could do, no one would say that. No one at Power's academy was just anything because each person was so extraordinary because of their ability, even if some people had greater powers than others. In the context that Chloe was using it though, he could see her point. His power didn't bring any great burdens as hers might, so he was lucky in that aspect.
He listened quietly as she spoke, spilling out her fears and worries that were stressing her so much. While they were valid fears, he didn't think that it was anything too unmanageable. "Well... that's why you're at PA, isn't it?" He was trying to make his tone calming, so that he wouldn't sound as though he was laughing at her worries and making them out to be ridiculous. "You just need more time, and you'll be able to always control your ability and when it appears. Once you can manage that, you'll have absolute control of your life. You'll be able to be a surgeon or whatever the hell you want to be." Without thinking, he rested his hand against the back of her head, stoking her hair in a soothing motion. "Like I said; everything will work out for the best in the end. It just takes time."

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Chloe continued to hug him, it had become natural for her, it didn't feel awkward even though she could sense a slight tensity in his muscles. She smiled a little as the tears continued to slide down her face in a constant rhythm. He was the one who had a flair for dramatics, giving her all this comfort when he was uncomfortable and tense himself. Chloe released her grip on hi and eased herself so she was draped over his shoulder compared to clinging to it. She lifted her head slightly as she listened to his breathing. It calmed her in a weird way, usually she would be super uncomfortable with his proximity since she was usually very defensive about her space but she didn't mind the risks when she was with Mr. X. Ha, she didn't even know his name which made it even funnier in her mind.
She listened to his lungs slowly fill up with air and then hear them deflate carry blood to the parts of his body. She closed her eyes as she heard him start to speak. She listened to what he had to say, it was the least he could do. She had pretty much thrown herself at him and complained how everyone was out to ruin her life. Well, that last part is a lie, only her power wanted to ruin her life. She envied him, to have an ability you could control, to have a physical ability which was actually useful. She would take a useless ability over her current one if it meant she could one day get her life back. She was sick of her power controlling her life. Chloe had lost track of how much time had passed, she didn't even know how long they had been embracing and when Chloe had slowly began to stop crying. It wasn't as bad as before, but there was still a tear avery now and then.
"I'm just a gym teacher with a freaky ability. That's a sentence I never thought I'd hear. Well... that's why you're at PA, isn't it? You just need more time, and you'll be able to always control your ability and when it appears. Once you can manage that, you'll have absolute control of your life. You'll be able to be a surgeon or whatever the hell you want to be."
Chloe sighed, he didn't know what he was talking about. She couldn't learn how to control her ability, she had tried but it is uncontrollable. She also remembered how much energy it took just to see a glimpse into the future. Chloe bit her lip as the tears started to well up again. "You think I haven't tried?you think I gave up without even trying? Chloe refused to get mad at him since he was being so decent to her, and he could probably get into lots of trouble if anyone saw them. She opened her eyes and looked at the wood flooring. It seemed so dented and overused. Chloe kinda wished that she could trade places with the floor, but decided against it. She had seen a glimpse of the floor in the boys change rooms once. Never again, it disgusted her to the point where she wanted to throw up. Chloe closed her eyes again and spoke once more. "The power controls me, I have tried in the past but I can't control it. There is a trigger and all i do is watch the events unfold before my ey---"Chloe was cut off mid sentence. The last thing she felt was his hand come up to stroke her hair, a sweet motion but she also felt him brush his hand by her neck. Chloe knew what was happening once she recognized the touch on her skin. The movies might have said she was falling or something dramatic but she knew it was nothing that fancy or civilized. It had been a while since her last vision but she was still use to the way her she lost all senses in her body. She knew her eyes were wide open and she slumped on Mr.X with all her weight but she couldn't see the gym floor anymore. She knew that her eyes were starting to change colors. They were normally a soft grey but based on what she saw they would change. Her vision was still black, usually she saw something by now, usually fuzzy but at least some light. Chloe started to hyperventilate as she felt her body start to contract in her moment of panic. Her limp body started to convulse in Mr. X's arms as she felt her heart beat speed up to the point where she though she was hearing a train. Chloe saw white specs start to fade into her vision, the convulsing stopped as she took a breath to calm herself. She was in a vision and was still safe... for know. Chloe knew her body lied with Mr. X doing gods knows what but she was also standing on a bed of dried grass underneath a bed of blackness. She know understood why it took so long for the light to enter her vision, it was nighttime in the past or future, she didn't know yet. She wasn't wearing her lucky tradition skirt now, she was in a long black dress, she always was in her visions no matter the situation. This one had black lace for sleeves and for part of the top aswell as a silk bow, underneath her bosoms. She looked at the ground and could see the remains of dried leaves and the trails of her long black dress which was apparently really elegant and trailed behind her. She knew if she moved she would be in pain mentally and physically so she stood where she was looking around her. She was in a forest surrounded by leafless trees, they gave an ominous feeling of dread in her stomach. Chloe saw Mr. X ran by her almost brushing her again. No one ever touched her in her visions and she never touched anyone for fear of what she might due. She watched knowing she was seeing the future, his hair was longer. She had learned to pick up small details to tell the difference, she knew if she could see her eyes they would be pure white. She hated seeing the future more than the past. They turned white when she saw the future and it always seemed more creepy in a way. Chloe watched as Mr. X teleported not far away from her and watched in terror as she saw why he had a look of pure terror on his face. She saw the silhouette of a person in the distance raise a gun. Chloe wanted to grab the gun and throw it away but knew she might die if you move to far using to much energy. She was surprised it was lasting this long since normally she only got to see a couple minutes tops. She was already a couple minutes in when she heard the loud bang and heard the cry of pain leave Mr. X's mouth. She heard him cry out in pain and turned to look at him with tears in her eyes. She saw the crimson liquid pool around him, it was seeping through his chest, dangerously close to where his heart was located. Chloe covered her mouth with both hands forcing herself to stand still. She wanted out now. Chloe hear a scream pierce the air and saw herself running down a small hill where the silhouette had once been but was gone now. Where were they? Why was Chloe there, she knew this would happen! Why didn't I stop it or something. The vision began to slowly loose focus and her black dress started to seep into the ground in shadows. CHloe shook her head tossing her blonde hair back and forth with her hands over her mouth. She was doing everything she could not to run to him and risk dying herself. Chloe watched in pure fear as the full moon blurred into the futures night sky. Chloe Screamed as she started to see the lights of the Gym once more. She could feel the fatigue, it was more than usual since it was longer than most of her visions were. She could feel her whole body aching in pain as if she just ran several marathon and just stopped just now. She was not only screaming in terror for what would Happen to Mr. X but for the pain her body was going through. Chloe couldn't see, she was always blinded when coming out of a vision. The world was still blurry when she made out the shape of Mr. X. She closed her eyes wanting to sleep so badly but knew it was a bad idea. She blinked away tears blaming them for her lack of vision. She felt the tears pouring out of her white eyes soundlessly. Chloe muttered something right before she passed out of the Gym floor. "I won't let you die.... I promise" She coughed up a small amount of blood right before she felt her head go limp, not sure if it hit the floor or if she was still alive as the darkness crawled over her vision. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:1576[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:You can either end the post or wait for chloe to come to, up to you. w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ben really hoped that he was doing a far better job of calming Chloe down than he felt like he should be doing, based on how awkward he felt. There was a reason why he had never signed up to be a guidance counsellor. To the surprise that everyone who knew, Mr. X was a genuine genius, but the one thing he could never understand was emotions. He knew they were erratic. He knew they were uncontrollable. He knew that the right words could calm them down and the wrong words could set them off worse than ever. He just didn't understand how you could control them, or help others to control them. That wasn't his strong point in life. It never would be. But he wasn't the type to give up, even at the one thing he knew he wasn't good at.
"Of course I don't think that," he frowned. In his opinion all powers could be controlled. Some just took longer to get a hold of than others. Chloe would get there eventually, if she kept trying. He was sure of it, and he was about to try and explain that to her when she spoke again and he shut himself up to not interrupt her and let her have the floor.
"The power controls me, I have tried in the past but I can't control it. There is a trigger and all i do is watch the events unfold before my ey---"
"...Chloe?" As the worried word left Ben's mouth he felt the young woman slump down against him as though she no longer had the strength to hold herself up. Had she fainted? He was about to move her to look at her face and see what was wrong when she started to flail in his grasp, her unexpected tremors threatening to knock him over and therefore send them both crashing to the floor. "Shit," he muttered to himself, forced to stumble a step back to hold on to his balance.
As suddenly as the tremors began, they ended and Chloe was still. Still, but eerily unresponsive. Had she passed out? No, that didn't seem right... this was more than that. A vision, then?
"Aw, shit," Ben swore again as he realized what he'd done. She was a touch seer, wasn't she? How the hell could he have forgotten that and touched her head? The girl wore gloves to limit skin contact. She had just been complaining about how her power was ruining things. She obviously did not enjoy her power. How could he have messed up so badly?
He waited a moment to see if anything notable happened, and then decided that he should probably lie her down somewhere. Normally there were a few mats at various places in the gym, or the huge pillow like bed used for high jump, but all of those were in the storage room today. The benches were too thin to lie her on, she could easily fall off, so the only option left was the dust covered floor. He gently lowered her down beside the bench, trying not to panic about this whole thing. After a moment of thinking he ran into his office and picked up the navy blue zip-up hoodie he'd worn to school that morning. He laid it under Chloe's head for a bit of support, and then... well, then he was at a complete loss of what to do. It wasn't like this was exactly a common occurrence. Should he get Miss Mays? Should he get a nurse?
When she screamed, Ben jumped a foot in the air. There was something so bloodcurdlingly ominous about it... he tried to block the sounds out from his mind and crouched down next to her, eyes narrowed in concern. Her eyes closed, opened, and she blinked. He was pretty sure that that meant she was at least mainly in the present. He was about to ask her if she was all right, but she spoke before he could even open his mouth.
"I won't let you die.... I promise"
A pit of dread formed in Ben's stomach as he stared at her, the question he'd been about to ask flying out of his mind completely. Oh shit.
Somewhere in his horror and shock he'd wandered into his office again and picked out a bottle of water from the mini fridge in the room. The next thing he really could focus on, he was sitting on the bench near Chloe's head, staring at her face and waiting for her to wake up. Maybe if he were thinking more logically he might have gotten Miss Mays to come and help Chloe out, but being told that you're going to die doesn't exactly help a person think straight, so all Ben could do was sit practically motionless on the bench, leaning forward and staring at Chloe's face while mindlessly turning the water bottle over and over in his hands. Maybe that had just been mindless babble by a confused teenager. He prayed it was.

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x]Darkness
Chloe could feel her head swimming through the vision over and over again. It echoed around her as continuously watched Mr. X get shot, followed by the blood pooling around him. She couldn't help but watch as she replayed the vision over and over again, she wanted it to stop but knew she was currently on the borderline of a vision and probably the Gym. Chloe wanted to see if she could open her eyes but knew she should probably rest up a bit longer. She didn't know how long she had been unconscious but she could probably guess ten to twenty minutes. Chloe still watched the echo of the vision in her head as it slowly started to dim and darkness started to meet her instead of the crimson pool of blood. She was thankful it had stopped.
Chloe groaned loudly as she started to feel her body once more, her real body. Her real body which was currently in so much pain it hurt to breathe. She didn't realize she was breathing, always a good sign to know you are still alive if you are breathing. She would have guessed if she was still in a vision that the pain in her body would not be as immense as it was currently. She winced as the pain started to grow unbearable. She could feel her breaths start to become shallow in attempts to not move as much. She slowly opened her eyes but was met with nothing but unfocused world. She could clearly make out that she was indoors, the light overhead was too harsh to be outside. She was probably still in the gym... Which meant the shadow which loomed over her was probably Mr. X. The Mr. X who she saw getting shot in the near future, the Mr. X who leaked blood on the dead grass. Chloe shivered as she remember the image so vividly, the movement made her moan a little out of pain.
Chloe smiled slightly as she could start to make out some of his details. She could still feel her energy draining from her but she knew it would soon stop. Chloe knew that her currently white eyes were slowly fading back to grey. She couldn't help but try and avoid his eye contact not wanting him to see her look like a freak like she was. As her eyes started to shift back to the soft grey the were usually she could start to see more and more detail like a mask was slowly being removed from her face. After a couple soundless heartbeats she looked at Mr.X.
She cringed as she saw his face, his nice handsome face she knew would be twisted with agony soon enough. She stood by her belief strongly, the future was cold. Chloe scanned his face not realizing that tears were streaming down her face. She knew talking would hurt but she couldn't help but wheeze out her fears. "Don't go in the forest" She gasped as the pain clung to her chest just moving her lungs hurt. She knew she would be sore tomorrow but she couldn't help how draining her power was. Promise me, never go into the forest when it is dark!" Chloe knew she shouldn't say more, she was forbidden to reveal people futures but she had to make him promise. It was one way to try and avoid the vision. They usually happened no matter what but Chloe wasn't going to let the odds get in her way. She had to try and save him.
Chloe tried to sit up and grab the neck of his shirt to lower him down to look at her closer in the eyes but the pain was to crippling. She rose her arm a little and sat up about half an inch before she yelped in pain. She held back the scream she wanted to release knowing she might scare him. She bit her lip slightly and gave him a look, the tears kept sliding down her face and she was desperate. She couldn't let him die without trying. Chloe in the vision was useless, she refused to be useless if she could stop it. He couldn't go into a forest at night, not ever. Chloe looked away from him not wanting to call up the images of him on the dead grass screaming in pain. She didn't want to taint his face with his future one. She let another tear slide down her face. Why was she one something soft? She decided to nuzzle in it a little smelling the faint musk smell and his natural scent She creased an eye brow ignoring the pain adjusting took. She stared at the soft blue fabric under her head. Her hair was sprawled everywhere around her head giving her an angelic look she didn't know she could ever pull off.

w e p l a y p r e t e n d you're just a c a n n i b a l - - - *a n d i ' m a f r a i d i w o n ' t g e t o u t a l i v e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The future wasn't set in stone, was it? Everyone actions, every decision a person made could somehow change what happened to them. When Ben had been a freshman at PA, there had been a senior with amazing control over her ability, which was seeing into the future at will. She wasn't a touch seer, she didn't require any physical contact, just a lot f concentration. The thing was, all of her predictions were practically doomsday for one person or another, or an entire group. None of them ever came true, and she could explain exactly where reality veered off from her vision, and how her prediction could have come true. The point was that maybe Chloe's dream was a whole lot like the other girl's. It could only happen because of one little decision he'd make, and if he didn't make that decision, it would never come true. Right? Whatever she'd seen, his death apparently, wasn't guaranteed to happen yet.
He didn't notice when she began to come back to reality. His eyes were dazed and faraway, and he sat completely motionless except for his hands which continued to turn the water bottle over and over and over. Despite being motionless on the outside, his mind was a flurry of activity and panic. He supposed that this was typical to anyone who had just been told they were about to die.
"Don't go in the forest. Promise me, never go into the forest when it is dark!" He jerked his eyes back to her, hoping that the fear she'd manage to put into him wasn't showing in his face as clearly as he felt it. She looked completely terrified by whatever had been in her vision, and he felt as she looked. He needed to know more. There had to be a reasonable and easy way to work things out based on her vision, right?
But though he desperately both wanted and did not want more details, he could see how much the slightest bit of movement pained her. Now was not the time to push her for any information, however much he wanted to. He could wait until she was feeling a bit better and more recovered before he drilled her for information.
"Don't say anything until you're feeling a bit better," he instructed without a trace of a smile. "You need to rest." He found the tears on her face to be almost as terrifying as what she'd said, because he'd never seen someone freak out as much as she was so suddenly before. Even without knowing a bit about what she'd seen, he'd find it incredibly unnerving.
After watching her for a moment, though he wasn't really sure if it was actually registering anything about her right now because his mind was still in such constant turmoil, he remembered what he held in his hands. He unscrewed the cap and placed it on the floor gently beside her. "Need to drink something?" he offered, trying to not sound cold or harsh. What she'd seen wasn't her fault, so he had to make sure his tone didn't seem as though he was angry at her. He was probably speaking a bit too quickly because of nervousness, because his next question came barely a second after his last. "How're you feeling?"

Chloe Ever Bennett---------------- [x] Chloe angeled her neck slightly to get a better look at where she was since she wasn't really sure yet. She peered past the blue fabric and saw the gym floor stretch for what seemed like forever. She could see a couple dusk bunnies lying on the floor which she didn't notice before. Chloe didn't feel the pain as much since craining he rneck wasn't nearly as painful as she thought it would be. She cringed as she saw her hair draped on the floor, she would have to wash it once she had enough energy to stand... It would take a while.
Chloe turned her head so it fell only slightly to the side, she still didn't want to face Mr. X since the images were still fresh in her mind. Every on eof her visions have come true ether metaphorically or physically, both would be bad in Mr. X's case. Chloe felt her eyes well up yet again as she pushed the image out of her mind of the crimson blood. She shivered as she could almost still see the full moon shining relentlessly. Chloe took a couple deep breathes as she tried to get some of her energy back. She could feel Mr. X about her, probably stressing out, He hadn't answered to her promise yet. She couldn't let him go into anywoods when the trees were bare. Chloe cringed as she tried to sit up yet again only to end up in pain lying down yet again. Stupid idea.
"Don't say anything until you're feeling a bit better, You need to rest."
Chloe chuckled, sure it caused her a bit ofpain but she sucked it up. It was worth it, her smiling made her feel better even though she knew she felt like crap. "Easy for you to say"Chloe retorted through clenched teeth. She released a breath before she felt the pain hit her from her words. Being a touch seer was like a cosmic bitchslap. It hurt like hell and made her wish she was dead. Chloe wanted to sit up and prove that she was okay but she doubted that he would let her sit up. She had to lean on something to actually stay sitting up. "Need to drink something? How're you feeling?" Chloe glanced at him and narrowed her eyes. She contemplated not answering his questions but thought better of it. She shook her head slightly and before she could second guess herself she yanked her ody up. She was next to the bleachers so she clung to the wooden bench next to her. Chlo gasped from the pain but clung onto the wooden seat for dear life. She could see the edges of her vision start to fade as dlack dots raced across her vision. She took quick shallow breths trying to remain calm even though she wanted to scream out in pain. Chloe glanced at Mr. X as she bit back her tears. She didn't want to cry anymore, she was to tired to cry. She gave him a pleading look as her arms started to shake dangerously. She knew she woud let go anysecond and she would crash onto the floor again in way more pain than she was in. Do you want to help me out. Then I will be fine" Chloe had suffered from the energy loss before but it had never been this bad, usually it only took a couple minutes to recouperate after she came to but she had a bad feeling about her vision. She must have been lucky to actually come out of it alive she guessed. She wasn't going to freak out Mr. X that though. ---------------- [/blockquote][/blockquote] [x] Words:615[x] Status:FINISHED[x] Tag:Mr. X[x] Outfit: Chloe in a skirt, make the best of it![x] Notes:sorry I had to brake the post up into two parts I am sorry.
