Young Evander wasn't entirely sure who this Power's Academy was trying to impress with the huge gates and ornate entryways. The young Canadian reasoned that the professional look of it all was to reassure nervous parents. After all, boarding school was a large enough venture for a young student to undergo in the first place - add a volatile element such as, oh, I don't know - mutants, and your facility can create an understandable air of uneasiness.
Evander wasn't particularly intimidated or reassured, however. The Canadian slums he had grown up in were hard to beat as far as potential dangers and lurking fears went, after all. He'd just have to face this challenge like all the rest of them... Straight on.
Of course, Evander mused as he examined the inside of this imposing, ornate gate as it closed behind him, first he should probably figure out where the heck he was supposed to go...

Vasilisa was in a bit of a hurry she wanted to go to the park in St. Michael's. She wouldn't admit it but she was hoping to see Troy there again, she would have never guessed that she would meet such an amazing and sweet person such as Troy Johnston. He had become her friend and even saved her life. Lissa gave a soft smile as she moved about her room trying to decide what to wear, though she was sure that Troy wouldn't really care what she was wearing, that was just the way he was. He may be a jock, but he was the sweetest guy that she had ever met. A small flush appeared on Lissa's face as she stood in front of the mirror and looked down at what she was wearing. She gave a soft sigh and brushed her bangs from her bright green eyes. Her black hair a startling contrast to her pale skin. She shook her head and decided that her skinny jeans and tee-shirt where good enough.
She then looked about her room, her roommate Clarissa wasn't in at the moment. Gulliver gave her an expectant look and then chittered as she held out her arm to him. The ring-tailed lemur then hoped up onto her shoulder. She then walked over to the fridge and grabbed a handful of grapes and offered one to Gulliver before popping one into her mouth enjoying the sweet taste. Lissa picked up her black leather jacket and almost screamed when she saw one of Clarissa's tarantula's was on the jacket sleeve. She took a deep breath to calm her racing heart and then slipped her hand beneath the large spider and then walked over to the aquarium style tank and put him in there. Lissa knew she still wasn't used to the large spider's just running around the room and knew that she probably never would be used to them. Lissa put her jacket on and looked into the mirror once more as Gulliver pulled at a strand of her hair. She smiled softly and then grabbed her key's and phone and left the room.
The smile slowly disappeared as she entered the hall and people immediatly started to avoid her and walked as far away from her as they could. Lissa felt very alone, even though it seemed like she was surrounded by a sea of people. She wasn't invisible, she was like the shark in an ocean full of people. Deadly and dangerous. She didn't kill out of pleasure, she killed mostly by accident or self defense. Vasilisa never intentionally hurt people but that didn't seem to matter to the others around her, it only mattered that she was the Angel of Death, Azrael. That was what they called her. They didn't even bother to use her true name, they just called her Azrael. An immense loneliness settled into the young girl as she exited the school and approached the gate she wasn't paying much attention to what she was doing so she ran right into a young man. Lissa gasped and almost fell backwards onto her butt, but luckily righted herself before she actually fell.
"I-I am so sorry!" She squeaked as she looked up at the guy who was at least an entire foot taller than her. He was as tall as Troy, and he had red hair. An adorable ginger she thought whistfully, but that didn't seem to matter because this guy was large and didn't exactly have a friendly air about him. Lissa instantly took a step back and worried that he might hurt her for running into him. It wouldn't have surprised her, she had abused and pushed around for the last three years and this guy doing it would be no different. "P-Please forgive me.. I-I wasn't watching where I was going.." She said as she lowered her eyes to seem respectful, she had been raised in a house where it was rude to meet people's eyes directly unless you where being spoken too. Her father had told her never to meet the eyes of a man directly unless he was your intended. Lissa's father had been very old fashioned and had drilled it into Lissa's head that she should always seem demure and woman like. Lissa had been the rebelious child though, she had been very strong willed, it hadn't been until her power surfaced that she had become what her father had wanted. Your so useless Vasilisa, the only thing your good at is killing... The voices in her head said coldly.

"...It's fine." The reply came brusquely, but not unkindly, from the quiet redhead's mouth. His eyes seemed to look past the girl, focused on something beyond her entirely - if she were to follow his gaze, she would notice that his gaze was in fact locked on the high school in the distance.
The question was a simple inquiry, and the boy's voice was soft and certainly unthreatening. But at the same time, a separate layer of existence could be seen lurking just below that soft visage. If Lissa was observant, then she would notice the toned muscles and soft scars on the boy's forearms, left bare by his short-sleeved black t-shirt, or the hard look in his intent green eyes. The boy certainly seemed different, somehow; There were signs everywhere. What such signs meant, however, the girl could only guess at.
Of course, things played out a little differently in young Evander's mind. The girl was quite pretty - in fact, such an appearance was rather intimidating in Evander's young eyes. He had no experience dealing with such a girl, especially one that appeared so much older than him. "It w-was my fault, anyways. I should have been paying more attention." An awkward pause as his gaze finally tore from the facility to examine Lissa in full. "O-oh..." he stammered; she was DEFINITELY older than him, he thought. What a way to start his tenure at Powers but to upset an upperclassman. His gaze instantly dropped to his feet. "M-my apologies. I'll be on my way now." Without so much as a second glance, he set off, walking briskly towards somewhere...
At least until he remembered that he still had no idea where he was going. "Err..." He turned around to face Lissa again. "Do you know where... New students go?"

The last thing that Lissa had expected was to run straight into someone. She knew she should have been paying attention. Yet something about him seemed off, he didn't shrink away in fear from her. Was he new? She then raised her eyes slowly and looked him up and down. She realized that she hadn't ever seen him before and that was odd. Lissa had been here for three years. She knew just about everyone at Power's. And just about everyone knew her. She was definatly hard to miss, she had a very child like body, but her eyes held a wisdom well beyond her years. No one would have ever guessed Lissa's real age an be correct. Lissa was a strange young woman, she was smart and beautiful. But also she was a loner, when she looked like she should have been on the cover of a model magazine. Lissa thought more of herself though than just her looks and most of the time Lissa was bringing herself down because she thought that she wasn't pretty, and that she looked plain compared to other girls.
Lissa's long dark lashes fluttered lightly and then her brows pulled together in confusion. The all together look was awefully cute, exspecially since Lissa's lips where slightly parted as if she where about to speak yet she said nothing. Lissa was completely and utterly dumbstruck. She would have never thought that this battle scar'd young man would simply just tell her that it was fine for her to run into him? Had she stumbled into a parallel universe where people where actually starting to be nice to her?! She desperatly wanted to know what in the world was going on here. It sent her into complete shock, and for a brief moment Troy was forgotten as she looked at Evander. Just when she thought that she couldn't be even more surprised Evander has to shock her once more by saying that it was his fault when naturally she knew that it was her own. She knew that she hadn't been paying attention and that she had had her head in the clouds thinking about Troy, but that was still no excuse for being so rude and running into someone.
She was about to speak when he simply said that he would be on his way. That was it? There would be no pushing her down and kicking her repeatedly until she passed out from the pain? Lissa stood there and only turned to watch him go, shock written all over her face. She didn't know what this world was coming to. Her enter knowledge was being tested and her world was being turned upside down. Ever since she had met Troy things have started to change. First the voices wouldn't speak when he was near or whenever she was thinking of him. She had made her first friend in three years, and the most shocking thing of all, she had fallen in love. She would have never thought, not in a million years would she have thought that she would fall in love. Yet it had happened. Lissa's thoughts where so tangled that she almost didn't hear Evander when he turned back to ask her a question. When she heard him, her suspicion had been correct, he was a new student, thus he didn't know her and didn't know about her. Vasilisa gave a sigh of relief and closed her eyes for a brief moment as if to tell herself that Troy could wait.
She then opened her eyes and gave Evander one of her signature heart stopping smiles. It was so utterly beautiful. "I do. Would you like me to show you?" She asked as she stepped foreward so she stood beside him. "I believe we should start over." She flushed slightly and then offered out her hand to Evander. "I'm Vasilisa Mishima, but you can call me Lissa." She said softly as she looked up at the tall boy. Her father's teachings be damned, she looked him in the eyes as if to say she saw him as an equal. "What's your power, if you don't mind me asking?"
