THE RULES
THE FIRST RULE
- Respect the admin. I tend to think I'm an easy person to get along with, but if you are short, rude, or in any way disrespectful to me I will get upset and you could easily get banned. I'm sorry if this seems harsh to you, but this is my site and I do not need to feel frustrated about things or people on my own site if I am not given the appropriate respect. I will never ban without warning, however. I'll always first speak to you so that we can try and sort out our differences quietly and politely.
REGISTERING
- We are a one character per account roleplaying site.
- Every account, unless an admin, must have a character.
- Sign up with whatever you wish, but once you have a character in progress please change your name to " first middle last. " with the lower case letters and the period at the end. Yes, it can be changed when your character is approved by the admins, but why make them go through the extra work? Your character must have a middle name.
- We do have an application for new characters on this site. It's long, we admit that, but all of the blood, sweat, and tears is worth it when you're finished. You will know your character better, and other RPers will have a reference for ideas when they want to RP with you.
CLAIMING
- Please make sure that your power and face claim are not already claimed/banned in the claims lists. If you have any questions or requests about a certain power or face claim, just PM Pepper and something can be sorted out.
- Please please please post in code! It makes things a lot easier for the admins when updating the claims lists. If you do not post in code, following the correct form, you will not be added. The correct for includes capitalization. If a word is not capitalized in the code, be it a power, name, etc. it should not be capitalized when you fill it out.
- As a courtesy to others, we ask that you also avoid taking powers/face claims that are being used by a WIP app. We realize that they haven't officially claimed their things yet, but it's only polite.
WRITING
- If the person you are roleplaying with posts over 500 words, you are required to give them at least 250 words in response. Over 750 = 350 word response. 1000 and above = a 500 word response. Got it?
- While we may not be picky about that previous rule as long as you give the other person something to work off of, we are picky about this. Grammar. If your post makes others read it over multiple times to understand it and is poorly written, you will get a warning from an admin. A second warning will result in your inability to roleplay for three days. A third warning could result in your account being deleted.
- Here at PA we roleplay in past tense and third person. This means that you do not go 'I walk down the street, looking about at everything around me.' instead you would say 'Pepper walked down the street, looking at everything around her.'
CHARACTERS
- Your first character may be whatever you wish, but if it is a Power's Academy High School or Power's Academy teacher character, your next character must be a Power's Academy Elementary character or a St. Michael's character. We're trying to even out the member counts.
- There is no limit on how many characters you can have in total. Just make sure that you can keep up with all of them. It is better to have one amazing active character than five 'eh' not-so-active ones.
- Your playby must as accurately represent your character as possible. This means that don't take a twenty-seven year old playby for a freshman and say 'I'm using pictures from when they were young'. There are plenty of playbys for each age. If your playby can't pass for your character's age, it will not be accepted.
- You must be RPing with your last made character before you can create a new one.
- Playbys must be an established celebrity/model figure. This is for the ease of those RPing with your character so they know who they're visualizing as they RP, as well as the benefit of the staff if they need to make an icon of your character for say Character Of The Month.
- We prefer for you to have at least one thread, or nearly a thread, completed with your last character before you make a new one. This just helps us make sure that you're willing to be active to the site before you create ten accounts that disappear if you do.
- It would be great if your character name was not already taken on the forum. There are millions of names out there. Surely you can make them unique? Last names especially, unless characters are related, we'd prefer not to be used twice. Make sure that when you complete your app, your display name is changed to first middle last. all lower case with the period at the end. The period especially is important, as anyone can see the rest of the names and go 'first middle last', but in our experience many people miss the period. This is how we make sure you have read the rules. If you haven't, your app will be denied until you fix your mistake.
- Please do not have all of your characters be females, or males. Every so often step out of your comfort zone and try a new gender. You might be surprised at how fun it is, and it helps keep the gender ratio fairly even.
- No one is perfect! This includes your characters. They can't all be popular and pretty and kind and geniuses. Life just doesn't work that way, as awesome as it would be if it did. Faults are what make character's interesting! Let them show!
SIGNATURES AND AVATARS
- It would be great if you could, at the very least, have an avatar for your character. It helps others visualize your character when posting with you. Signatures are not mandatory, but avatars are, please.
- Avatars must be at least 100x100 in size, but can be up to 150x200. That's 150px wide and 200px tall. Anything larger than that will have to be deleted by an admin for the sake of keeping things neat.
ACTIVITY
- Please stay active! We understand that everyone has lives that get in the way, but do your best to give us warning if you are going to disappear for more than a few days. That way we don't think that you've disappeared on us.
- This is very important to us. Log on to every one of your accounts every day that you visit the site. This helps make our site attract members by looking as active as possible. Please follow this! It doesn't take much time at all, and it helps a lot.
- Activity checks will begin every thirty days. You will then have ten days to post in it. If you don't, your account will be deleted. Bios and threads are, however, never deleted. So if you ever want to come back, all of your stuff will still be here for you.
RATING
- This site is rated PG-13. This means no excessive violence and swearing. If it is not suitable for young eyes, do not RP it! Breaking this rule could result in your account being banned, and we wouldn't want that, would we?
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!
- Have fun! Roleplaying is an awesome activity! Enjoy it and everyone else will have an amazing time, too!
