CBOX RULES
I am sorry if I seem like a nagging admin for all of these rules, but as we're quite a large community now I figured some guidelines were needed to keep us all in order and confusion-free.
CHATANGO
- Be respectful to everyone at all times.
- Please only use one account in the chatango. It saves confusion.
- Keep chatspeak to an absolute minimum! We are roleplayers, not third graders. For example: we know that when directing something to someone else the proper word to use is 'you' not u. ur, u, b, r, and the like are not acceptable. lols, g2gs, and others such as those should be kept to a minimum as well. I'm guilty of 'brb', but I'll try and cut back on it, too. All of these do get annoying when overused, and I don't want to put a complete ban on them.
- If there is going to be a long conversation between members that has absolutely nothing to do with the site and that other people will be completely lost in, please take it to PMs or private Chatango functions. These include conversations to do with other sites, real life, and lengthy discussions about inside jokes other members don't understand. No, not everything in Chatango needs to relate to the site (that would be absolutely ridiculous), but use your judgement on whether or not other members would be able to follow along in your conversations as to whether or not they should be held in the PA Chatango.
ST. MICHAEL'S CHATROOM
- The St. Michael's chatroom is basically a chatroom online that any resident around St. Michael's can join in on. This includes PA students.
- You are encouraged to use your screen names, with (character first name) beside it to save confusion of who your character is, or an avatar of them.
- Each character should only have one screen name.
- Chatspeak is permitted as you see fit for your character.
- Please don't participate until your character has been accepted. Once he or she has, go nuts.
POWER'S ACADEMY IC
- This is a site-wide IC box.
- You may use avatars.
- Events in the IC do not in any way affect actual site roleplaying, but it can be a fun way to plan future events or do 'what if's.
- The same rules apply here as do regular roleplaying. Keep it PG-13.
- Use asterisks or hyphens to show your character's actions, such as: -Walks through the forest until she sees Troy- Hi!
- ICing is not just a shorter form of roleplaying. Take a break from the '"What're you doing?" she asked, walking closer.' Let loose! Have fun with it, don't worry about proper quotations and grammar! Well, grammar's still important as in like... no chatspeak, but don't worry about being a proper roleplayer in IC.
- ICs should be present tense.
- Do not IC until your character has been accepted.
- No chatspeak!
